Season-Ending Surgery for Tryon and Other Injury News: The Giants received very bad news when it was determined that CB Justin Tryon suffered a broken right arm in the game against the Miami Dolphins. Tryon underwent surgery on the arm yesterday. Tryon was also officially placed on season-ending Injured Reserve.

“Here we go again,” said a disappointed Head Coach Tom Coughin. “We had a guy who had some experience playing on the defensive side of the ball for X amount of snaps. He has been counted upon on special teams so here we go.”

“He literally played 2½ quarters with a broken arm,” said Coughlin. “Nobody noticed it and he wasn’t about to let anybody know. The thing that I appreciated and I was standing close by, as the doctors were showing him and talking to him about his injury, he didn’t want to hear about it and all he wanted to know was when he could play again. He said, ‘Just put a cast on it and I will play,’ and that was something to hear a kid talk about how badly he wanted to play. It was quite an inspiration for me to listen to that and I wanted you to know about what he did.”

As for HB Ahmad Bradshaw (foot), all Coughlin said, “He is sore. He has had this before and he has it again.”

HB Ahmad Bradshaw had x-rays taken on his foot that turned out to be negative. “I’ve got a screw in my right fifth metatarsal two Februaries ago and I think the head of it is just aggravated right now,” Bradshaw said. “I think it will be fine.”

Packers FS Nick Collins (injured reserve, neck) acknowledged this week that his cervical fusion surgery could end his football career.
"It's been a great ride for me," Collins said. "The success that I've had over these past years that I've been here, that's just gratifying enough." Collins hasn't decided to retire, but he's getting a head-start on a coaching career by working with the Packers secondary during practices. "I just have to take small steps, and not try to rush anything," Collins said. "That's all I can do right now. It's going to be a long process."

Peyton Hillis aggravated his hamstring injury again in Friday's practice.
Hillis pulled up limp on a run and promptly threw the ball and his helmet in frustration before walking off the field with a trainer. At this point, we have to believe he's going to end up missing another game. Expect Chris Ogbonnaya to get the starting nod against the Texans. We will have Hillis' status update in a few hours.

This is just going to cost Hillis his best chance at a huge contract, his whole game is power running but you can't be a power runner if you can't stay healthy. Looks like Bradshaw is another talented back whose running style just doesn't let him stay healthy.

The former coach has been correct "95 percent" of the time in guessing the Browns' play. Really is amazing how hard it is to find anyone who admits to liking Nickelback. They've sold a bazillion records and yet literally everyone who is a fan of theirs is too embarrassed to admit it to anyone. I've never understood how they made it. They flatout stink. Every song sounds the same.

Has Canada ever issued us a formal apology for Nickleback? Or Celine Dion for that matter?

I don't believe in curses. I think a lot of it has to do with the fact a player only makes the Madden cover following a great season. It's only natural that a player would put up worse numbers the season he makes the game cover.

Hillis was never an elite back to begin with. I never understood why he made the cover in the first place.

yeah but the player is almost always injured for the majority of the following season

if they're not, their numbers are substantially worse, not by a small margin but by a whole lot
