Still confused -- Payton tried to call a timeout, couldn't get the ref's attention, went out onto the field to try and do so, and gets flagged for it?

Terrible way to end the game. But I wanted the Falcons to win so no complaints.

Payton during the postgame took the blame for what happened at the end, but you could tell he was pissed.

I could've told you he was going to be flagged for that, that was one of the first rules I learned when I started watching the NFL. I guarantee Parcells certainly didn't teach...well Parcells was a hothead so never mind.

At no point on that play was Hill open, I think Ingram was though, Brees got too greedy.

Sure the Saints might have choked in this game, but not nearly has epic as the Atlanta Falcons choke job on the grandest of stages, back in February.

Peyton was just accurately pointing out recent history.
Looking forward to the rematch in a couple weeks.

Recent history is the Saints haven't been to the Super Bowl in quite awhile so I side with my fantasy 1B back on this one.

History doesn't mean much to the current players I imagine, unless they were on those championship teams.
