NFL really needs a better solution for the bye weeks. How is a fair for one team to have a bye week in week 4 opposed to a team in week 11?

The best way is to just have one whole weekend be used as a bye for all teams. And I know, before everyone just casually dismisses this idea, the NFL would never do it. They'd be crying over ratings and money, as if they don't have either. But it'd be the most fairest option, which also aids in scheduling (and fantasy )

Bye weeks will always be an issue, they can do something about Thursday night football though.

Thursday night football is great in moderation, it really needs to go from 16 weeks of Thursday night games down to about 4-5

Opening Weekend
Thanksgiving
1-2 Weeks of premiere flex near the end of the season games which have playoff implications

Dump this Saturday BS the NFL tries to do POST College football season close as well. We should have the same even number of 1:00pm games as 4:00pm games, and a Sunday night and Monday night game, I mean who the hell even watched last nights game?

They dont want to do early sep or any dec byes since its too much of an advantage (dec) / disadvantage (sep).
so youd only have TNF in oct/nov & thats not enough games.

I’d like to see teams get 2 bye weeks a year. Definitely keep players fresher.

Did that already think about 15 yrs ago ?

Teams said they didnt like it cause it threw off their routines too much.

Networks said they didnt like it cause too many wks had not enough quality games.

Thats why it lasted only 1 season.

Been thru this....
NFLN needs 8 games for cable contract $$ + that doesnt even count that nbc & cbs want games too.
Opening night & thanksgiving dont count as those are actually SNF games.

Oh & btw TNF last night was the #1 show on tv in 18-49 ratings beating big bang & sheldon.

As mentioned there still isnt enough non east coast teams to fill 17 late games since almost every team is on MNF once.

Probably the worst idea ever. The whole idea was for teams to play old school pre CTE evidence football. But it might have a market with ratings down. Throw it on in March until preseason might grab a nice size audience.

I’d welcome a comeback. The initial success overpowered their ability. Along with the fact that they realized you couldn’t change much from NFL in terms of player safety.

If the XFL becomes what WWECW ended up being then it could serve as the new AFL for NFL developmental and actually work.
As an actual AFL type league, yeah, forget it, just more wasted money.

Vince has the toned down the violence in WWE a lot so I doubt it would be resurrected with the same rule set.

Maybe they can do crazy shit with the XFL. More emphasis on fun and fan interaction. Have fans do the coin toss and defer or receive.
