Chucky walked away from coaching once, probably why they backed up the money truck to his house. I bet there's unnamed incentives as well, such as how much of the team he owns if he leaves prematurely.

The Vikings have denied the Packers' request to interview assistant GM George Paton for Green Bay's general-manager vacancy.

Paton is wrapping up his 11th season with the Vikings and has been a hot name on the GM circuit for a number of years. He declined to interview with the Chiefs over the summer and reportedly wasn't all that interested in the 49ers' gig despite interviewing for it. The Vikings understandably aren't going to willingly help their chief rival, Green Bay, find its replacement for Ted Thompson.

What a joke. Brady always a darling to the voters.
I’m not disputing Brady should be first team, but to win by that many vote. Give me a break.
Wentz still had more TDs than Brady and played 3.5 games less. Lol!
But Tom Brady was completing way more passes and had way more yards even before the injury.

This pretty much locks brady for MVP.

I don’t know about darling this is only is 3rd first all pro in a 17 year career. Like I said before him being 40 is in everyone’s mind because they have never seen a 40 year old do what he is doing.

Mark Davis un-did his father’s mistake but wow we’re giving him a ton of money. I’m alright with it. I loved the 99-01 Raiders style.

High risk move for sure but hey it won’t be boring

Maybe this time he'll actually get you a ring instead of stealing one.

I think Jimmy is great I’ve watched him for 4 years but people are painting this as the worst trade in history. I think he will develop into a damn good quarterback and probably win a super bowl eventually(not as a back up) but to say oh the pats screw up by keeping the 2017 MVP Tom Brady just sounds stupid. Like they traded away Graoppolo and have to stick with the current MVP all shucks. I also think that contract Jimmy signs is gonna be massive I mean if he doesn’t make 100 million in the first 3 years I’d fire my agent.

Duh by letting them trade him. He should have begged Al to stay or retired right on the spot.

I wish the Raiders and Gruden the best, but I just don't think he's worth all the hype, and certainly not that much money. Good on Gruden's part to take the money but I don't think this is gonna work out for the Raiders.

Don't forget the Jets lending a draft day helping hand by not drafting Sapp.

I don't recall anyone saying it's the worst trade in history, but for a franchise as successful as the Patriots are/have been, it's baffling that they would let someone who could potentially keep that success going for years get away.

One things for sure, the Brady era will come to an end (I personally don't think he will make it another 5 years or however long he said he wants to play) and the hunt for another QB begins.

No clue how long he’ll play I think Edelman will help a ton. Missing that slot guy has hurt him a lot. But look it up lots of people have said trading Jimmy is the worst trade in NFL history. Problem is no one will ever take the discount brady took. No one will ever take a 50% discount to play QB.

Rodgers makes 22 million a year and wants a new contract

Ryan makes 20 million a year and wants a new contract

Worst trade in NFL history is Herschel Walker and really, it isn't close. The Vikings win probably 3-5 Super Bowls in the 90s if they don't gut their team getting a RB.

No need to look it up. Garoppolo has only 7 starts in his career, way too early to be saying worst trade of all time.

I don’t know that Rg3 trade was pretty awful.

You also have Brett Favre, John Elway, Steve Young as far as QB trades. Way too early.

11 players/picks and pretty much the heart of their offensive line for a RB, means there's nobody left to block for that RB. The Cowboys turned that into 3 Super Bowls in 4 years. Considering how good the Vikings were at the end of the 90s it's pretty reasonable to assume we reshaped the future of that franchise with that trade. Maybe some redemption this year. Yes, the RG III trade was bad, the Wentz trade could still be bad if he doesn't recover from getting a flat tire.

As a Niner fan and someone who has followed this Jimmy G/Niners-Pats trade since it happened and read a lot, I have not heard even the worst talking head refer to it as the worst trade ever. People were for sure puzzled only because of Belichicks shrewd nature really because, like other have already pointed out, at the time of the trade Garopolo only had two starts to his name and just a lot of hype from the media as the heir apparent in NE. Even now, though undefeated, with only seven starts to his name, it's still too small of a sample size to make a real definitive judgment. Give him a full season at the helm before grading the trade.
And when you look at it from the NE side, a second round pick is still a good return for someone with only two starts.
I am excited with the direction the Niners are headed, with Jimmy at QB and glad that Lynch wants to lock him in long term and even though they have a ton of money to spend I know Lynch will be smart about it. There is the possibility they franchise him this year, see what he does with a full season under his belt and then lock him down long term next offseason. He's not getting $100m over three years when he only has seven starts. I am high on him but his numbers over the five wins as a Niner were good but not great.

In regards to the NE story, when first hearing about it I was ready to dismiss it as a hyped up ESPN hit piece but after reading it in full I think there are probably some morsels of truth in there but think in ESPN fashion a lot of it is fluff.

I like Gruden and think this is a cool move for the Raiders. On the surface $100m over 10 years sounds crazy but when you factor in they are trying to have a nice farewell season for the Oakland fans and also make a big splash for the move to Vegas, it make sense. Not sure he will do the full 10 years but this is the price you pay for a big move like this.
