I can't imagine the leash is long, but then again..... it's Haslam's team.

Right now, Cleveland needs to acquire a QB via free agency (and avoid drafting one) to right the ship.

I keep hearing the "Alex Smith trade rumors", and I'm perfectly OK with that.

I also keep hoping that the Pilot/Flying J investigation finally ensnares Haslam, and it forces him/his family to sell. To me, it's a simple equation: if you're the owner/CEO of a company (with a reputation of being 'hands-on' in terms of management style) and a whole bunch of shady shit (like the rebate scam) is happening on your watch, you're either an idiot or a criminal. There's no third choice.

No worries. I understand the idea of making your team better is always exciting.

Browns won't do crap, even with new names in the front office. Sorry to Cleveland fans, but it's true. (Then again, y'all threw a parade for 0-16 lol)

Packers hired ex-Colts OL coach Joe Philbin as offensive coordinator.

Mike Pettine is the defensive coordinator. Philbin, 56, was the Packers' offensive coordinator under coach Mike McCarthy from 2007-2011 before landing the Dolphins' head-coaching gig. He's spent the last two seasons as the Colts' OL coach after getting fired in Miami. McCarthy will likely continue to call the plays in Green Bay as Philbin helps in game-planning and with the offensive line.

They haven't done shit in 20 years since the return, so saying they still won't isn't exactly introducing something new or original to the conversation. Tell me something I don't know.

And I'm OK with the parade. I have to laugh at the Browns players who were upset by it (and saying so on Twitter), but to them I say, it all could've been avoided had you won one game. One. F*cking. Game.

Even better than a parade, plummeting season ticket sales would be the best form of protest IMO.

And thank God for the Indians and the Cavs.

Didn't the Indians and the Cavs both just choke away a championship recently?

In case you forgot, the Cavs won the NBA title in 2016. This past year, they wasn't much to choke away in the Finals, because Golden State was the far better team.

The Indians took it to game 7 of the World Series in 2016. This past year, they choked vs. the Yankees.

At least they've made it to the playoffs the last few years. The city wouldn't know what to do with itself if the Browns came anywhere near the levels of success that the Cavs and Indians have had the past few years.

Eh, yes, but it's not like that.

Cavs winning the championship just 2 seasons ago was HUGE for Cleveland. I mean, anytime we have LBJ on the team, the team has been good (and winning is always fun), but to finally bring a championship to Cleveland was massive. The parade for that exceeded 1 million, easily. So you can say we "choke" last year in the NBA Finals, but did we? Golden State, who had set the league's best all-time record a year prior, HAD to add Kevin Durant to beat Cleveland.

Regarding the Indians... we choked. But everyone wrote off Cleveland anyways and had Chicago winning. So it is as much as a choke? I don't know. What I do know is the excitement, the atmosphere, in Cleveland - one that I have not seen nor heard of since the mid 90's Indians teams. Winning all those games, the streaks, winning the American League pennant, all those things.... while not a championship in the end, it's SO much more than that trophy.

The Browns.... they're a lost cause. And we all know this. All they have to do is win 1 game and it's already an improvement. Just start making it enjoyable. Win 5 games. FIVE! Make that be a short-term record... make it enjoyable to go to a game and have a chance.

After going through four kickers last season (plus their punter being forced into extra point duty for a game), the Chargers are going to take a look at Roberto Aguayo.

Nothing says fix your kicker problem you've had since Novak like bringing in a guy that's never been reliable.

Browns fired senior personnel executive Ryan Grigson,

Grigson was fired as the Colts' GM less than a year ago and latched on with the Browns in May. He lasts just one season with the team with the Browns overhauling their front office and bringing in a bunch of talent ex-Packers executives. Grigson, 46 next month, has seen his career spiral the drain.
