Julio Jones is trending on Twitter. He apparently deleted all Falcons pics, unfollowed his Falcons connections and made his account private.

Julio Jones to Dallas?

Quote:
Per NFL Network's Jane Slater, the Cowboys envision Boise State LB Leighton Vander Esch as "(Brian) Urlacher 2.0."

It's an aggressive comparison to the first-ballot Hall of Famer, but not an uncommon one. NFL draft insider Tony Pauline passed along rumors Vander Esch was drawing Urlacher comparisons from scouts shortly after the college season. In addition to wide receiver, the Cowboys have a big need at linebacker. They want to keep Sean Lee on the weak side, move Jaylon Smith to the strong side, and find a true three-down "Mike."

With the QB position being such a crapshoot, and 3 QBs practically even among analysts (Darnold, Mayfield, Allen) and even a 4th maybe with Rosen, why wouldn’t the Browns just take Barkley at 1 and grab a QB at 4?

The only downside to that is if you really believe the Giants will pass on Barkley anyway, which I don’t think they would do.

Yeah I also don't see why the Brown won't take a QB at #4, unless (and I think this is likely) they trade that pick and move down. In which case yeah, Mason Rudolph or Lamar Jackson become the likely options. And the idea of Jackson riding the bench while he learns from Tyrod Taylor doesn't sound too bad. But the Browns have to take Barkley #1. They need a RB. If they don't, then I assume it means they've traded with Buffalo and will take Derrius Guice at #12.

Browns are taking a QB at #1. It’s also doubtful they take Barkley at #4. I think it will be Chubb at #4.

Not saying they won't, just don't think they should.

A lot of it has to do with positional value. QB’s and pass rushers are way more valuable than RB’s. Especially so with the 5th year option on rookie contracts.

RB's are resurging. Look at Bell, Zeke, and Fournette. If Tyrod goes down, I'm speculating that Drew Stanton is the next to start. You trust Drew to handle games and put Cleveland in winning contention, without a credible RB to hand-off to?

You need to be multi-dimensional anyway.. I don't want Cleveland to rely heavily on the passing game at all times.

Exactly what I've been saying. Go Barkley at 1, Chubb at 4 (if he's for some reason not there, then take a CB). Get your QB in the 2nd round (or by trading back into the 1st for all I care) and get either Jackson or Rudolph.

By the same token, I don't get why anyone needs to take a DE at #2, even if it's someone with the potential of Chubb. And especially if it's a team like the Giants who have a glaring upcoming need at QB and this is supposedly the best QB class since the Luck/Wilson/Cousins/RGKnee draft.

Yeah, pretty much every "expert" is just guessing what the Browns will do because John Dorsey has played this extremely close to the vest and nobody seems to truly know what he's planning on doing. Supposedly he hasn't told anyone his plans, including owner Jimmy Haslam.

I have a really hard time believing they go anything but QB at #1.
