Good deal. So that way when the Browns select Barkley at 1, they can get Mayfield at 4 if that's who they want.

Haha, nah cuz he's only 21 but I DO think it's hilarious. The young lad has yet to navigate the depths of despair that his Uncle Rager has had as a lifelong NYJ fans, haha.

Thoughts aside - this is why this draft is going to be one the most memorable. I can't wait for it. So many different ways this can go. For once it's not a foregone conclusion and we're able to have a fun, healthy (at least I think it is ) debate about it.

Philly and NE aside.
Look at the running backs of recent Super Bowl champions (not including the Eagles and Patriots). In 2015 Denver was led by a third round pick and an undrafted player. In 2013 Seattle was led by a back they got for a 4th round pick and a future 5th round pick. In 2012 Baltimore was led by a 2nd round pick. In 2011 the Giants were led by a 7th round pick and a 4th round pick. In 2010 Green Bay was led by a 2nd round pick. You have to go all the way to the 2009 Saints to find a Super Bowl champion that used a high pick on a running back, and that back (Reggie Bush) was the team's 3rd leading rusher.

Runningbacks are an important piece but it is hard to win a championship with at least a serviceable QB. Yes that was a shot at Case Keenum, the Vikings were close last year but he was the Achilles heel.

I wholeheartedly agree! I'm just hoping we choose correctly and FINALLY get our franchise QB for many years to come.

Barkley is a great talent, but I don't think Guice is that far off from him.

The play style of the NFL has not merely changed, it's been transformed. It's a strongly pass first league. These days an 85-90 QB rating isn't guaranteed to keep a guy his starting job. 30 years ago that was an elite passer rating. Running backs are the Ford Pintos of the NFL. They once served a purpose but they aren't a necessary component anymore.

I agree, but that’s not a reason to pass on a player. The Browns have certainly been a mess, but for them to pass on potential franchise QBs due to the fact they’re a mess is like throwing in the towel.

You may need to keep them on the bench longer to make sure they don’t die out there. But, definitely in hindsight, it was a huge mistake for them to pass on a Wentz and again Watson.

I wonder which team is going to trade for the Giant's #2 pick? Somebody's going to do it.

We offered them three 1st’s. Unless they come down from their mountain, they are picking with #2. We have moved onto Denver and Indianapolis.

If the Browns don't pick Barkley first and then grab a QB at 4, they will never make the playoffs...ever.

Why is it a given that NYG trades out of #2? Not like they don't need a QB too.
