I think Witten will be first ballot and would get in over Revis if it came down to the two of them for one spot. Revis was a better player in his prime but Witten had longevity. You also can't overlook the fact that Witten is beloved by the media while Revis has a lot of detractors because he was never very media-friendly and a lot of people didn't like the way Revis handled his frequent contract disputes.
Revis is a complete and total a*shole who is in it for himself, the money and his legacy, that much is certain.
Thank you for setting the standard for us. Thank you for showing us the right way to go about it. Thank you for the incredible impact you made in football, but maybe more important in our lives. Thank you for being our conscience in tough times.
When we all came into the NFL we were looking for guidance. You were that guy. You had done it. You had breathed it. You had lived it. But what made it special is you gave us all you got.
On the field, you were there every day. We know you were hurting sometimes. Maybe a lot of times. And you showed us what being dependable was all about.
As a leader, you made sure not only to tell us, but show us. You molded us in a way to where we had to live to your standard.
We remember the first pat-and-go you did with Dak where the pass was just a little off and you didn’t extend your arms. You just kept on going. Dak realized right there in the NFL a couple of inches off makes the difference in winning and losing.
We saw you on the final day of camp in 2015 in a 7-on-7 drill. A lot of us were probably ready to get home from Oxnard, but you laid out for a pass from Tony Romo as if it was a Super Bowl. That showed us that there’s meaning in every practice, and to survive in this league, you have to act like the game could be taken away from you at any minute.
We celebrated in the end zone with you. There was nothing better. You punched us so hard we thought we were losing our breath. We’ll keep those memories with us forever.
We’ll also remember the pain. Not just the physical pain with the lacerated spleen, the sprained ligaments or the broken jaw. But we remember the emotional pain. The time in the locker after losing to Green Bay in the 2016 playoffs. We gave our hearts that day. None more than you.
We felt your pain because we know how much a championship meant to you and we wanted so badly to win one, not just for us, but for you. We will always carry that regret that we didn’t do enough for you to have that trophy in your hands.
But that pain will not be our lasting memory. We will remember the times you held court at the head of the table on those training camp nights, telling us story after story. You had us rolling. We will remember those speeches you gave us. Because of you, we know the secret is in the dirt.
This has been a strange week for us. We kept waiting to see your car in the front of the parking lot. We kept waiting to see you in the locker room or the weight room. We kept looking over to our left in the team meeting room and didn’t see you there.
We know these past few days have been difficult, but just know you will be with us as we look to bring a Super Bowl back to this franchise.

PITTSBURGH -- Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger was surprised the Pittsburgh Steelers drafted a quarterback after he notified them about his plan to play three to five more years.
Appearing on 93.7 The Fan in Pittsburgh on Friday, Roethlisberger was pointed when asked about last week's selection of Oklahoma State quarterback Mason Rudolph with the 76th overall pick.
"I was surprised when they took a quarterback because I thought that maybe in the third round, you know you can get some really good football players that can help this team now," Roethlisberger said. "Nothing against Mason; I think he's a great football player. I don't know him personally, but I'm sure he's a great kid. I just don't know how backing up or being a third [string] -- well, who knows where he's going to fall on the depth chart -- helps us win now.
"But, you know, that's not my decision to make. That's on the coaches and the GM and the owner and those kind of things. If they think he can help our team, so be it, but I was a little surprised."
Roethlisberger, 36, made a point to notify team officials early in the offseason about his plans, which he admits depend on health. He did this, he said, to ease any concerns for the offseason, including the draft.
"I wanted them to know so they wouldn't have to worry about drafting a quarterback," he said. "... I wanted to make sure there were no questions."
The reaction from the Steelers was positive, Roethlisberger said -- and he assumed they believed him.
"Once they drafted a quarterback in the third, I wasn't sure if they believed me or not," Roethlisberger added. "But I'm committed to it."
The team drafted a quarterback for the second consecutive year; Josh Dobbs was selected out of Tennessee in the fourth round in 2017. Shortly before that draft, Roethlisberger had announced a return for a 14th season after a public flirtation with retirement.
This year, Steelers general manager Kevin Colbert said the team had a first-round grade on Rudolph, who set passing records with 13,618 yards for the Cowboys.
On the show, Roethlisberger openly wondered whether the Rudolph pick signaled the team "screwed up the pick" with the hardworking Dobbs.
Dobbs isn't concerned about competing with Rudolph in training camp.
"I know how the league works. It's just another opportunity to have competition," Dobbs said. "I'm sure it will be a great addition to the [quarterback] room. ... [The Steelers] were really excited with how I performed last year in the preseason and in practices and overall preparation.
"It's like you can't really take it personal. They are always looking for the next player. Quarterback is the most important position. No matter who they bring in, you have to compete every single day. Your play speaks for itself. That's all you can do, show the leaps and bounds I made last year, continue to progress in the offense and add new ideas. I plan on being [at camp] and plan to compete. When you're a true competitor, you rise to the competition."
Asked about mentoring Rudolph, Roethlisberger was blunt.
"I don't think I'll need to, now that he said he doesn't need me. If he asks me a question, I might just have to point to the playbook," Roethlisberger said with a laugh.
Rudolph told the media on draft night that it's not up to Roethlisberger to teach him anything, and that it's his own job to learn.
Roethlisberger said he will answer questions if Rudolph asks, but added that backup Landry Jones is skilled at helping young quarterbacks.
"As far as I know, I'm still the starter," Roethlisberger said. "So I need to get myself ready to go, ready to play and win a championship."
Roethlisberger has two years left on his contract at a time when the quarterback market has reached $30 million annually thanks to Matt Ryan's deal with the Atlanta Falcons.
The quarterback seems to be in no hurry to address his contract. The team faces a potentially rocky negotiation with running back Le'Veon Bell this summer.
"To me, there's more important pieces that need to be taken care of besides myself," Roethlisberger said. "I've got two years left, this one and one more. I want to go out and do the best I can. To me, it's about addressing it next year. But if they feel they want to talk and address something this year, then we will obviously talk and listen."

Browns head coach Hue Jackson reaffirmed Friday that Tyrod Taylor will be Cleveland's starting quarterback.
"I am not going to back off of this and we can keep writing this narrative, Tyrod Taylor is the starting quarterback of this football team," Jackson said. "That will not change." Jackson continued that Taylor has demonstrated "what it is like to be a starting quarterback in the NFL" and that that is something Mayfield "doesn’t know" and thus "has a long way to go". It's the second time in the last week that Jackson has confirmed Taylor, who has only one year remaining on his current deal, will be the team's starter in Week 1.

Carson Wentz (ACL) told Good Morning Football his "goal is to be ready Week 1."
Wentz suffered a torn ACL early in December. The quarterback added his "rehab has been great" and "everything is going well." As for what he will do after he returns, Wentz does not plan to change his playing style. "As an aggressive player, I'm not going to change. I believe I'll be back better than ever." If Wentz is not ready to go Week 1, the Eagles have the luxury of Super Bowl MVP Nick Foles in the backup spot.

As a patriots fan I have seen plenty of this team in the playoffs and none of their loses were because of Ben imo.
90% of them though can fall directly on the lap of their head coach who is a terrible one at best! Every Playoff loss to the patriots the Steelers were significantly out coached.
