That Gurley deal is being reported everywhere as $60m, which it has potential to be, but $45m guaranteed. Which is a big for a RB deal.

The Titans released linebacker Kevin Dodd after he didn't report to camp. Dodd was the second pick of the second round in the 2016 draft but was a massive bust, with just 12 tackles and 1 sack in 17 career games.

I’m not sure how big a deal Bell will be getting. He has had a lot of touches in his career, and the Steelers are going to use him like a rented mule knowing he won’t be back.

Yeah, that's my thought as well. If he has a season similar to last year he'll enter free agency as a 27-year-old with over 1,500 carries, 400 catches, and 10,000 total yards. Most backs start to break down before that point and even if Bell stays healthy you pay based on what you think the player will do going forward and not for past production, and I can't see many teams thinking they'll get more than a year or two before a big decline.

Heard on the radio there's a $20M signing bonus as well, nicely done by Gurley.

I just don't really see the reason the Rams did the deal with Gurley now. They already had him under contract for another 2 years for less than $12 million. Why not have him play out those 2 seasons and make sure he stays healthy before giving him a massive extension? They also could have gone the Le'Veon Bell route and franchised him twice and the 4 year total would have been under $40 million. I just think the Rams should have been more focused on getting a deal done with Aaron Donald before worrying about a guy with 2 years left on his deal.

Exactly. Players know when they sign the contracts that other players at there positions will be making more money in the following years.

I don't understand the fans that side with the billionaire owners instead of the millionaire players. The team can cut a player at anytime, so why shouldn't the players look to maximize when they can?

The players will still get paid if they’re cut before contract maturity though.

While I appreciate the players doing what they do, my loyalty is with the franchise.

I can't see the Browns signing Dez unless they think the Josh Gordon situation is worse than they're publicly saying. If they think Gordon will be back then receiver isn't a need.

With Josh Gordon's status still a mystery and Ricardo Louis now out for the year with a neck injury, the Browns could be in the market for a wide receiver. Bryant's market has been slow to develop since his surprise release from the Cowboys in mid-April. He turned down a three-year deal with Baltimore, which remains his only concrete offer to date. The 29-year-old's numbers have declined in recent years but he would still be a useful pickup for any team in need of pass-catching help.
