Refs tend to be trigger happy during pre-season, they intentionally over-penalize to get used to whipping them out for real games.

There are new (or maybe not new, but more strictly enforced? Someone correct me) tackling rules that players have been pretty vocally irritated with.

I've been an avid NFL/college football fan for many decades now, however in the half-decade or so football has gone way down for me (not as much in the college game ...yet!

All the network s have to do is not broadcast the protests and inform the announcers not to comment on it problem solved noone will care it will go away.

the NFL on the other hand now has a massive image problem. The have screwed the pooch the past 2 years and really should have nipped this in the butt 2 years ago by making a rule change stating everyone must stand with hands across hearts and helmet at your side problem solved.

This will *I will try to remind myself, too* probably be my last post this season on the subject. I have my own feelings about the whole anthem fiasco. However, more than ANYTHING ELSE, I am sick and tired of hearing about it. Be like other sports. Just do the anthem, be quiet and play the game.

It’s not about the flag or patriotism, for me. I’d rather it not be televised. Do away with the song. Do away with the forced partnership the military paid for.

The reasons of the protests is stupid. Yeah there’s some bad apples in the police but the media is the biggest race baiting divider there is. These incidents do not happen lethargic much and majority that do are warranted. You want respect, earn it. Listen. Comply. Take care of inner city populations.

Guice tore his ACL per Ian Rapoport. I was watching the game last night and he was walking around fine and they didn't think it was that bad and that the MRI was just precautionary.

Edit: The Redskins confirmed Guice is out for the year, and said tight end Manasseh Garner (who was unlikely to make the team) is out for the year as well with an ACL injury.

Yeah just came here to post that: Guice out for the season now.

Really hate to see a kid work his ass off to get to the NFL, just to sustain an injury like that in his first PRE-season game. I listen to Redskins Radio going to and from work, they were literally praying for his knee on the morning show lol

It seems like there's been a lot more serious injuries in the preseason in recent years since the CBA doesn't allow teams as much time to work with the players in the offseason as prior CBAs.
