Dez Bryant is in Cleveland today to meet with John Dorsey. Odds that he signs with the Browns by the end of the day?

Seems like if Dez wants to play it's Cleveland or nothing. The only alternative is to wait it out and hope for an injury or hope a contending team wants him for a playoff run. He (or his agent) badly misread the market when he turned down the Ravens three-year offer due to the believe he could get a big one-year offer and turn that into a big payday next year.

I am guessing 10. We all know Dez doesn't like dealing with developing QBs so the wallet must be pretty light these days if he's signing before a significant injury opens the door somewhere else.

I'm surprised Washington didn't show more interest, unless his asking price was just too high. He wanted to stay in the NFC East and it's not like they're exactly brimming with receiving talent (or offensive talent in general), unless the Paul Richardson gamble ends up working out and Jordan Reed can manage to stay healthy.

His game doesn't mesh with Alex Smith's skill set but I do know at least one Washington fan who wanted him.

What skill set, the check-down? I guess so. But he's shown he can throw deep if he has a capable receiver. I guess the question becomes can Dez still be that deep-threat WR.

As a Niner fan who always rooted for, and still root for him, Alex does not have an arm for the deep ball. He is best when running the west coast offense. He makes the smart plays and doesn't turn the ball over by taking risks. Because he has such a rep for being conservative he can occasionally surprise a defense with a deep throw but he's not all that accurate when doing it. Also one of his strengths is being mobile, he can run. I really hope he can find some success in Washington.

Not the playcalling. He's afraid to throw deep. He doesnt throw 50/50 balls.

Decent performance for Darnold behind a bad patchwork OL missing two starters. If I'm not mistaken, the NYJ have drafted ONE OL in Mac's 28 total draft picks. If they're gonna protect their investment in Darnold, that's gonna have to change and fast. Looking forward to seeing what OL get cut as the season draws nearer. Hopefully, we can sign someone better than what we have as it currently stands.

Eric Decker was a complete non-factor last night (2 targets, 0 catches, 1 drop) and from what I've read he hasn't looked very good in practice either. He's going to have to show something in the next preseason game if he wants to have a shot at making the Patriots.
