It's Gruden's way or the highway. Must be some personality issue that they're not gonna get over. Raiders are either hoping Mack ends the holdout, or other teams start getting desperate as the season draws closer and are therefore willing to fork over more in a trade.

Mack would be a really nice piece given how the NYJ have like zero pass rush and how much money they have in cap space, but it's gonna take a lot to get it done. We'll see, but I'm not overly optimistic.

I don't understand the Gruden/Mack situation... but I'd be open for Detroit making a trade for him. It'll never happen though.

I've read some speculation that part of the reason the Raiders haven't signed Mack to a new deal is because they don't have the cash flow for it. If they sign him to a deal with (theoretically) $60 million guaranteed then they have to have $60 million in cash because league rules require teams to put any guaranteed money into escrow accounts when the deal is signed. It's an outdated rule designed to ensure players get any guaranteed money but Mark Davis is the least wealthy owner in the league and might not have that kind of liquidity.
