Alex Smith completed 23-of-39 passes for 275 yards, no touchdowns, and one interception in the Redskins' 43-19, Week 5 loss to the Saints.

He added a four-yard rushing score, but Smith was far worse than his pedestrian numbers even suggest. He did some stat-padding late in the blowout loss. Smith threw multiple hospital balls to his targets in the pass game, getting both Adrian Peterson (knee) and Chris Thompson (ribs) injured, while also spiking numerous passes into the turf well short of his receivers. Smith lost a hilariously-bad fumble that went about 20 feet into the air and backwards for an easy scoop for the Saints. It's hard to believe how terrible the Redskins were coming out of their bye. They're now on a short week ahead of a home game against Carolina. Smith won't be a fantasy option.

We got spanked by KC's defense. Oline did a bad job protecting Blake which led to a bunch of turnovers. Sure a few plays look like the old Blake but KC's D came out to play and make a statement. Our defense pretty much did their job after KC's first drive of the game. The team is running pretty thin at RB now that Corey Grant is on IR, and we lost our best TE in Seferian-Jenkins. The team was 3-2 last year looking pretty good, but this year feels a little different with consistency issues. The team didn't battle much injuries last year so we'll see what my team can do since it's still early in the year. If the team loses in Dallas this week, maybe I might start pushing the panic button but hopefully the Jags can at least go 6-2 or at worst 5-3 before the bye. At least the Titans blew the game against Buffalo so both teams are 3-2 at the moment.

Today is the deadline for the NFL to announce if they'll keep the 49ers-Rams Sunday Night Football game in week 7 or flex another game in. There's some better options, including Patriots-Bears, Bengals-Chiefs, and Saints-Ravens, although it's unknown if any of those games are protected. A report last week indicated the Saints-Ravens game would likely be flexed, but that was before the Ravens loss to the Browns.

If the Patriots-Bears game is flexed in it would mean the Patriots would play in prime time 5 straight weeks, and the Patriots would be at 6 prime time games so they couldn't be flexed again this season (other than potentially in week 17). Another reason the Patriots might not be picked is because game 7 of the ALCS is scheduled for October 21, so if that series went 7 games you could potentially have a Patriots game going opposite a game 7 featuring the Red Sox.

If Dallas had any sense of smarts, they'd do it now. I don't even care who the interim coach would be, but make a change and ride it out for the season, in a winnable division.

Alex Smith isn't the problem. Gruden is a lackluster coach that as mentioned had Shanahan and McVay. Now both are out, stupidly, and Gruden has nothing to show for it.

NFC is definitely stacked but the NFC West is trash except for the Rams now that Jimmy G is done for the year. I still think the Eagles can turn it on but it has to happen ASAP. Skins were always fool's gold and I still dunno what to think of the Cowboys; I don't think they're as bad as their record but there's clearly been something missing since Dak/Zeke's rookie year. The Giants are what they are, I'm a little nervous about playing at them on a short week but I don't think the Giants really scare anyone.

Week 7, Oct. 21, the 4-1 Bengals and 5-0 Chiefs are being flexed to Sunday night, per source. Rams-49ers, which was scheduled for that night, will be moved to 4:25 pm. So it’ll be two straight Sunday night games for Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs. Bengals lone SNF appearance.

Philly did win it all last season with a lot of injuries, to key players. Unfortunately it seems a lot of those guys still aren’t 100%. I feel bad for Jay, was looking forward to seeing him play in London.

I hope he has plenty left plenty in the tank since we have no idea when Leonard will come back. Some here are labeling him Fragile Fournette.

I see the sense of urgency though. Our offense is built to run the ball and use play action. With no Fournette to start we can't use the different run packages when Yeldon and Grant are on the field alternating which was very effective earlier this season. With the team abandoning the run game the past few weeks and relying on Blake, it's a little worrisome.

We'll see though. Depends which Boat shows up. So far this season aside from Week 1. The good Blake has shown up every other week so that means we'll see good Blake this weekend

Yeah I don’t like that, mainly because with al his legal stuff going on, who knows if he’ll even be allowed to play all season. I’m not against making a bid for Bell but that doesn’t seem to be in the cards (or cap lol).
