As much as a criticize Rashean Mathis over the past few years when we missed the postseason. He was playing very well in each game since the Baltimore win a few weeks ago. He was making tackles, and was actually playing solid coverage when they had him up to man to man. It blows that it came down to a season injury, but we gotta move on. Our defense is still pretty good. I think 5th overall in total yards allowed.

Wow 3 Major stars now possibly out next week... Add Calvin Johnson to Injured list

Coach Jim Schwartz revealed in his Monday press conference that Calvin Johnson sat out the Lions' final possession of Week 10 with an injury.
"I don't know," said Schwartz about Johnson's Week 11 availability. "To tell you the truth, I haven't talked to him about how he's feeling. But I would hope so." Schwartz is secretive about injuries, so he wouldn't have clarified Megatron's status regardless. The injury happened on a big fourth-quarter shot from Lance Briggs. We'll have another update by Wednesday.

and Matt Cassel

At his Monday press conference, Chiefs coach Todd Haley revealed that Matt Cassel's right (throwing) hand injury will require surgery and he may be finished for the 2011 season.
Haley deemed the injury "significant," and confirmed that Tyler Palko will be the Chiefs' starter indefinitely, although rookie Ricky Stanzi is waiting in the wings. Cassel can be dropped in all fantasy leagues, and the Chiefs may do the same with him after this season. The 29-year-old is due a $5.25 million base salary in 2012. Kansas City could turn in another direction should it find a quarterback worth drafting in the first round or installing as a starter after signing in free agency. Palko's insertion will present a downgrade for all Chiefs skill players. The former undrafted free agent is undersized with a weak arm, and would be a third-stringer on most NFL teams.

And Moreno with a TorN ACL

Broncos coach John Fox revealed Monday that Knowshon Moreno will need surgery to repair a torn right ACL.
He's done for the season. The reconstructive surgery will throw a real wrench into Moreno's long-term outlook. He's been a poor between-the-tackles runner as a pro, and the new Broncos' coaching staff had determined that Moreno only fit their offense as a situational third-down back. With the latest news, there's little doubt that Moreno is headed for bust status as the former No. 12 overall pick in the draft. Willis McGahee, if healthy, will continue to operate as the Broncos' primary back and perhaps even take on more passing-down work going forward. Lance Ball is the No. 2.

Texans Disputing Schaubb Story

Appearing on 610 Houston Monday evening, Texans coach Gary Kubiak disputed reports that Matt Schaub (foot) is done for the season.
"It's the team's opinion that he is not out for the year," said Kubiak. The Texans still want to see how Schaub emerges from an upcoming visit with Dr. Robert Anderson in North Carolina. They'll decide whether to place him on injured reserve then. Clearly, though, Schaub isn't going to play anytime soon, and in all likelihood he is probably done for the season

Run DMC Sheds Walking boot...

Darren McFadden has shed his protective walking boot as he continues to recover from a mid-foot sprain.
McFadden didn't practice on Monday, but numerous reporters spotted him walking around without the boot. It's a good sign that McFadden will be able to play within the next few games. We still wouldn't bet on it happening in Week 11.

With Schaub out, I still have "some" hope the AFC South can be claimed by any team.

With the Texans strong defense and running game all Leinart has to do is manage the game well. Of course, that is no guarantee with him. But I'm sure they will lean heavily on the running game for a couple games until he gets his sea legs under him. I do feel bad for Schaub this really seemed to be THE YEAR where the Texans would not only make the playoffs, but they had the potential to have a deep run.

Yeah you're right. I don't see why they wouldn't run more now with Tate starting to emerge and then they could be getting back Andre Johnson soon so that might be a boost for Lenart.

I was thinking that too. Indy is out of it and it seems Jacksonville is just too far out. I could see Tennessee beating out Houston though. Matt Leinhart is a truly terrible NFL QB. My guess is Houston wins the South with around 9 wins, limping into a 1st round playoff defeat.

It's hard to overstate how terrible Leinhart is. Even with Andre Johnson to throw to he'll be really bad. Looks like their new backup is some random dude named T.J. Yates.

Allen's about to already pass the century mark for yards lost on sacks this season. I think Strahan has the record at 184 yards lost due to sacks in a season.
