I always cringe when players offer definitive statements and talk in absolutes. Why? Just be vague. It’s much more difficult for that to come around and bite you in the ass if you backtrack.
So if Peterson plays for any other team, at any time, the above declaration becomes a meme.

Meh, he can say he "intends" to be a Cardinal for years to come but trades aren't exactly up to him anyway. If he leaves in free agency, that's a different matter.

Some player (can't remember who) referred to players as consultants, that it's best to look at yourself as if you've been brought in to address a specific issue and once they either solve the problem or find someone younger/cheaper, they'll send you on your way. I understand why sentimental attachments are developed between players and teams but this is a business at the end of the day.
