They're scheduled to play a game in Mexico City every year through 2021. There's been some talk that the condition of the field this year could be grounds for the NFL to void the deal, but even if that's the case I doubt the league would exercise that option. They'll probably just do a better job of supervising the field conditions before the game and maybe put a clause in the contract that doesn't allow concerts at the stadium for a period of time before the game.

If the game was this big of a deal (it clearly is given the team records at play here), wouldn't conventional wisdom say that you send a contingent of NFL officials, head groundskeepers/groundskeeping crews to Mexico City WEEKS in advance to be sure the game goes off without a hitch?! It's all so comedic.

Weeks in advance wouldn’t matter as there was a soccer tournament and concert held there over the past week.
Also we need to keep in mind, despite all the league front office hate, the ultimate decision to play overseas(to make more money) rests solely with the 32 owners. I know it’s much more convenient to blame the suits, but it’s really your owner, along with all the others, making the call.

As for the my Bell landing spot prediction: Baltimore Ravens.
