The Packers job might appeal enough to McDaniels to leave New England. The question is whether Belichick has given McDaniels any idea on when he plans to retire. A big reason McDaniels reneged on the Colts job is because he didn't want to move his family (he has 4 fairly young children), and if he thinks Belichick will retire within a couple years he could choose to wait it out. He's also making head coach money already so it's not like salary would be as big a factor as it would for many assistants.

I honestly feel that part of that reneging in IND and the subsequent meeting with the NE organization was to commit to McD for the post-Brady/Belli future to carry on that same style/lineage/etc.

Packers should shore up the defense and hire John Harbaugh as HC. Give Rodgers a top 10 defense and a young core on offense, Packers will be in good shape. Bears and Vikings are gonna be tough to beat for at least a couple of years.

They aren’t really a team set up for the future though.

Why is McCarthy under so much fire? Was he out there playing on a banged up defense that didn’t stop much? Did he miss what would’ve amounted to the game tying field goal? Or another loss in which Crosby missed how many field goals? 5...6?
Not saying McCarthy is Coach of the Year, but man outside of Rodgers, who gives them a chance every game, Adams and now a surging Jones there isn’t much to get excited about on GB. If Seattle doesn’t gift wrap them an opening fumble, this game might have been more of a blow out.
Of course it’s never the players fault. Lol.

He's under fire for that choice to punt with 4 minutes left when his defense was running on fumes.

Quote:
Aaron Rodgers completed 21-of-30 passes for 332 yards and two touchdowns in the Packers' 27-24, Week 11 loss to the Seahawks.

Rodgers played a perfect first half — the highlights, including a 54-yard, cross-body touchdown to "Robert Tonyan," are worth checking out — but the Packers fell apart after the break. Coach Mike McCarthy was dialing up truly awful play-calling, with long-developing third down plays that resulted in sacks the favorite. Rodgers also made a few decisions he will want back. The talk will be McCarthy's job status. Struggling more than ever this season, McCarthy was straight bad this evening, botching play calls, wasting timeouts and choosing to punt back to the Seahawks with four minutes remaining even though the Pack's defense was injury ravaged and running on fumes. At 4-5-1, the Pack are in grave trouble in the NFC North. They are headed to Minnesota for Week 12.

So say Rodgers doesn’t get it on 4th & 2? Everyone still yells for McCarthy’s head. Lol.
Then, most likely, GB is trailing by 6 instead of 3 and would have to score a TD vs get in FG range to have shakey ass Crosby go out there to tie the game.
I believe he made the right call based on his entire teams performance last night.
Rodgers for all his greatness has one fatal flaw: he gambles on chunk yardage plays instead of going for the 4-6 yard surefire grind plays.

Can’t hold the players accountable.
Lol, HC isn’t the problem in Dallas, it’s the GM. Of course we all know how that story goes and will continue to go until the owner fires the GM.

Personally, if I were Green Bay, I'd sign McCarthy to a long extension!!

McCarthy should be fired cause he's a bad coach, but there's plenty of blame to go around.

Fraudgers had another bad 4th quarter and another road loss.

Dude is out there playing Madden, scrambling around trying to throw home runs every play and people still think he's the GOAT 😂

No need to act twice my age when I'm not there yet.
