Here's to the upcoming season, where once again, the Bears will fizzle away like 2 Alka-Sletzers in a Saturday morning hangover glass.

I've always been a Favre guy and after last season's implosion, I'm glad he's hanging them up. I'll go back to rooting for the home team and back to being a disgruntled Chicago football fan.

I got a totally random football card itch, so I went to the local card shop. Dropped $1k on 9 boxes. Again, no idea why as I've never ever bought football cards in my life. Had a lot of fun busting them open though. Got a nice Tim Tebow autograph #'d /10 and some cool-looking jersey cards and what not. One thing about getting older, you can always go back to things from your childhood to make you feel young again.

Does anyone want to buy this Cutler autograph #'d /5 for $10,000? It will be worth millions in a few years! jk

Considering a graded /5 rookie auto of Cutler is going for 1499 on ebay that wouldn't be very smart to buy a 2010 one for 10k

Sports cards run over $1K/box these days?!? Good gawd. I collected cards in the early to mid 90's and still have most of them and I think the highest I ever saw a pack for was around $8-10. How many cards are in a box of those?

Shhhhhh. lol My God, of all the qb's I pulled him and a Carson Palmer auto #'d /5. Blehhhhh.

ChadFL, they now average about $100 per box for a nice product. That Cutler is from Panini (didn't they use to make just stickers back in the day???) Absolute Memorabilia and there's 4 packs to a box, each pack has 4 cards. That was $140 a box.

The Tebow is from Panini Plates & Patches: $130 per box.....1 pack lol per box with 8 cards and one sealed card on top.

And then there's the $400 per box stuff like this: http://www.dacardworld.com/sports-ca...ball-hobby-box lol

Wow, so looks like Upper Deck lost it's stranglehold on sportscards. Interesting.

Mayock is the only draft "expert" who I actually believe knows what he's talking about. Unlike Todd McShay he actually watches tape of all the prospects and talks with NFL scouts. In 2007 Mayock watched JaMarcus Russell's pro day workout and said it was the most impressive workout he'd ever seen. He then said he wouldn't use a first round pick on him because there were too many questions about his work ethic and passion.

Quote:
Sources: Panthers owner disses Manning, Brees

Apparently, Richardson was particularly sarcastic when Manning started to talk about players’ safety. At one point, Richardson evidently said, “What do you know about player safety?”

Richardson was unavailable for comment. A league source denied that there was any contentious discussion between the team owner and anyone from the union’s side.

“Mr. Richardson is a former player and made clear his respect and affection for the players during the meeting,” the source said.

While negotiations between the NFL and the NFLPA have historically been marked by contentious moments, Richardson’s outburst may be especially telling for the players.

“If he’s willing to talk to [Manning] and [Brees] that way, what do you think it says about what he and the other owners think about the rest of the players?” the source said, rhetorically. “Now, it really only matters if [Richardson] is representing the opinion of 23 or even eight other owners, but it has to make you wonder.”
What a chump. No wonder the Panthers suck

I wish Manning would have fired back with "what would you know about winning Super Bowls?". Hard to believe an owner would say something that stupid to one of the best QB's of all-time.
