Wow, this 49er win was bittersweet. On one hand we snapped a 10 game losing streak against Seattle, on the other we no longer have the 1st pick (for now).

Nick Mullens is upping his trade value for next season.

Development of your young players is more valuable than a couple draft spots.

Absolutely, but development comes from experience, not necessarily from winning and losing. Young players can have a hell of a game and lose or a bad game and still get the win, happens all the time. We lost three spots beating a team that still has a chance at making the playoffs. If it wasn't for the 10 game losing streak coming to an end, this would be a completely meaningless win (I would have been ok if we lost a close game). One more win and we could be out of the top ten...with a 5 and 11 record to show for it. For a team that still needs to address a lot of concerns on defense (some additional help on the o-line would be nice too), those couple of spots can make a huge impact.
