Good for him to address it. I hope he gets the help he so sorely needs.

That being said, a swing and a miss by Bellicheat. There wasn't much risk involved, but it kept another WR on the roster from stepping up and developing rapport with Brady on the cusp of the playoffs.
Its being reported Gordon is facing another suspension this time indefinite

Josh Gordon announced he is "stepping away from the football field for a bit to focus on my mental health."

According to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, Gordon is facing another indefinite suspension for violating the terms of his reinstatement. "I take my mental health very seriously at this point to ensure I remain able to perform at the highest level," Gordon wrote. "I have recently felt like I could have a better grasp on things mentally." Gordon made no reference to relapse or suspension in his statement. Reportedly facing another indefinite ban, it is, unfortunately, possible Gordon has played his final snap in the NFL, but there is no way to know for sure how this situation will play out. With Gordon out, the Patriots will turn back to Chris Hogan, Phillip Dorsett, and Cordarrelle Patterson behind Julian Edelman.

The swing and a miss by Belichick was his drafting this year (and really his drafting the last 3 years). I hated the Patriots taking an undersized tackle and a running back (which wasn't remotely a need) in the first round in April and hate it more now. I said at the time they should take a receiver (or a defensive player, but at #23 there wasn't a good enough value) with their first pick, and then the best defensive player available regardless of position with the 2nd pick. Their only receiver under contract for next year is Julian Edelman, and he'll be 33. Receivers have skyrocketed in price and next year's FA receiver class has no studs. They either needed to pay Brandin Cooks or draft his replacement, but instead they tried to replace him with a bunch of scrap heap guys like Cordarrelle Patterson, Jordan Matthews, Kenny Britt, and a bunch of young guys that didn't pan out. Belichick the GM has made life so much harder for Belichick the coach with his poor early round drafting over much of his tenure.

They received a fifth-round pick from the Patriots in 2019 and must give back a seventh-rounder in 2019. The trade was not conditional on Gordon finishing the season, so the terms stand.

Good job, Cleveland - you don't have to lose a pick.

Philly, QUICK, send Tate for a first rounder. New England will bite.

Solid response, couldn't agree more on really all points.

Tate would be a good Pat.

Tate will be a FA, so that is definitely someone NE should sign. He would definitely shine well playing with the GOAT.

I never liked the trade. Nothing against Tate, it’s just not a good trade for Philly unless they repeat as Champions...which isn’t gonna happen. They can’t afford him next year and they needed ANYONE on defense more than another WR.
WR is about the only healthy position Philly has.

Football is king.

I really hope Josh Gordon can get his life in order. This is much bigger than football. This is a young man’s life.

Same with Randy Gregory. So much more important than a game played for entertainment, these are very young men that have their entire lives ahead of them. Everson Griffen as well.

You seriously need to research mental health and addiction. Your flippant attitude towards it is one of the biggest problems that we face in society in solving this major issue that plagues many people from all walks of life.

Is Brady a lock to return? There are reports that he's been playing with a partial MCL tear, plus factoring in his age, I don't think he's a slam-dunk for 2019 (but still probable).

And I hope Tate stays in Philly, he's starting to develop some rapport with both our QBs (even though Foles is likely gone next year) and I'd like to see him have a full off-season to train and practice with Carson.

This is the worst I've ever seen Brady, plus the AFC is starting to get a bit stacked so I wouldn't be surprised if he retires.

Perhaps I wasn't clear in my post then. I want this dude to get himself right. But he is done with football, despite him saying he's "stepping away". But, I do question his seriousness about getting right.

Also, NFL needs to relax quite a bit on marijuana.

Definitely not a slam dunk, nor is Gronk. Thunder rolls over New England.

You rarely hear about how bad the Patriots drafting is because they're always winning.

Cowboys have a lot of good homegrown talent, hope it shows up as more wins.

Apples to oranges here, but Brandon Marshall has excelled on and off the field once he got straightened out - and also has become an activist and brought awareness to the issues. On the flipside, IMO, Gordon has done neither of those - and seems to check into rehab and/or 'focus on his mental health' only when suspension is threatened or brought on.

Maybe I'm wrong, but that's what I see.

Brandon Marshall has faced his demons and come on the absolute right side of it. So proud of that dude for what he has done for the mental health community. He was easy to root for when he was a Jet.

And yes, apples to oranges is correct as, if I'm not mistaken, BM has never had substance abuse issues.
