It was definitely a joke, but I guess I'm a complete dick because I dont regret posting it. I have zero sympathy for his situation. It comes off as a PR stunt and he is using the mental health angle to deflect the incoming shitstorm from violating the substance abuse policy for the 5th time and the possibility of never playing in the NFL again. Sounds to me like he has a substance abuse problem. Look, he could have serious issues and if that's the case I'll gladly take a slice of humble pie. But until then, he comes off as another talented athlete in a long line of talented athletes that ruined their potential and careers over drugs.

This is not a good take. I don’t know if you have been around anyone with mental health issues/addiction issues, but it’s a very scary situation and the two are oftentimes connected. A real blackeye on our society right now is the lack of sympathy and education towards mental health/substance abuse.
