Schefter: Cardinals' Kingsbury Could Trade Josh Rosen, Draft Kyler Murray No. 1

EDIT: this is an interesting situation. Assuming the Cardinals aren't just blowing smoke to try and drive up the price for their #1 pick, Rosen suddenly becomes one of the better prospects on the QB market this offseason, right? Only one year under his belt, high potential, hopefully relatively few bad habits that need to be corrected (haven't seen much of him aside from that godawful game against the Broncos), but more importantly, he'd be affordable and team-friendly. Should be a lot of interest, assuming this is really what they're trying to do.

That would be a bold move for sure.

Speaking of which, the Cardinals organization is really puffing their chest out over this Kingsbury hire.

I'm sure he's going to be very fired up those two times a year they play the Dolphins. No doubt he has an ax to grind there.
Yeah no shit, that makes ALL of us!!!

Good, they can both stay away. I love Bell, but RBs are plug and play these days, can find good value elsewhere. Brown is obviously sick but comes with the diva act and Sam is still in essence a rookie anyway.

If all it'll take for AB to stop being a diva is for him to be the clear-cut WR1 on a team, then the Jets shouldn't have a problem with him.

Agreed, but not sure that's ever gonna happen so if that's the case, then hard pass.

Why isn’t anyone looking for The Next Doug Pederson?

Quote:
The league never tires of finding the “hot” candidate, which for the past two seasons is someone who replicates the idea of Sean McVay or Kyle Shanahan. McVay’s Rams are fun to watch, but he’s come up short against other teams with Super Bowl aspirations. Last year he lost to both the Eagles and Vikings, the top two seeds in the NFC, this season in addition to losing to the Eagles again he lost to the Saints and Bears, the two highest non-Rams seeds in the NFC, though the Rams did beat the Chiefs and Chargers. Shanahan took over a bad 49ers team and has been dealt some key injuries, but San Francisco went backwards this year. Both coaches still have the bulk of their careers ahead of them, but so far the realities of their head coaching careers haven’t caught up to the ideas of them, yet teams are looking for carbon copies.

Meanwhile Doug Pederson just keeps winning. He’s won four straight playoff games with his backup quarterback leading a team littered with injuries, developed his starter into an MVP candidate, and he single-handedly changed the league’s attitude towards fourth downs. If that wasn’t enough, Frank Reich, the Matt LaFleur to his Sean McVay, is also coaching this weekend. But no one appears to be looking for the next coach who will embrace analytics and push the envelope, and bring strong leadership. They just want a coach under 40 who’s coached some quarterbacks in some capacity.

NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports ex-Lions OC Jim Bob Cooter will interview for the same position in Cleveland.

Cooter's 2018 offense was an unmitigated disaster, but it's unclear where his blame ends and coach Matt Patricia's begins. We have been inclined to blame Patricia, who wanted a fire-and-brimstone running approach. Cooter's receiver corps was also decimated by trade and injury. Cooter had previously earned plaudits for dramatically increasing Matthew Stafford's efficiency. He would not be a bad caretaker hire for new coach Freddie Kitchens, who will likely continue to call his own plays.
