No chance the NFC Championship games will get replayed from the point of the non-call. It would make a mockery an even bigger one. Regardless of what Rule 17 says. There are way too many parts at play and it’s just not as simple as hitting the rewind button. The NFL will take its bruises on this(like they always do) and just keep on truckin’.
If they really want to try help prevent this, going forward, they will make more calls or non-calls subject to review. Of course then we will have more yellow laundry and game stoppages. Slippery slope no mattter how you look at it. I have a question, why are the NFL Championship refs selected after the Conference Championship games? Why can’t they be selected at the end of the regular season? Obscure betting tip: the Rams are 7-0 when John Parry has been on the field for their games. ![]() |

No cause still can keep teams with only 3 challenges.

Not a chance, Goodell for once is trying to get out ahead of it. I can see rule changes being made but no chance we see any part of Sundays NFC championship replayed.

I'd be down for either of these:
1) Each team gets three challenges per half that can be used on ANYTHING, but once you throw that challenge flag, you don't get it back even if you win the challenge. 2) Keep the two challenges per half exactly as they are, and add a third mega-challenge (or whatever you wanna call it) that can be used to review anything. If you win that challenge, you keep it. If you lose that challenge, you lose it and a timeout. EDIT -- of course, I think the best option would be to just keep the rules as they are and either HIRE SOME COMPETENT REFS, simplify the rule book, or both. But that seems to be easier said than done for some reason. |

Again, they dont have to replay anything. If Goodell found enough to convince otherwise, he can outright change the outcome of the game if he wanted to according to the rules. In no way am I saying this is going to happen and it probably never will, but the option to do so is there.
I'm all for reviewing every penalty even if it slows the game down. |
