Have not watched a Pro Bowl in many, many, many years!

Too many variables to list. Largely, though, is the number of head coaches and OC's he has had to play for, a lot of them being rather conservative. But you do you... unfortunately.

Smith had the Skins in first place with a bunch of bums except for AP (and IIRC he beat Dallas before getting injured, albeit because of that weird false start and then the kick got doinked). Dak isn't bad but he has possibly the league's best RB and they had to trade for Cooper before Dak's performance really went up this season. But honestly they're both relatively mid-tier QBs.

We had the worst wr/te corp in the NFL before the cooper trade. Dak does need to continue to improve, hopefully Moore can help there

As pointed out earlier, Smith's early career struggles had nothing to do with his skill and everything with a rotating door of HC and OC's his first four years in the league. Once he had a steady HC and OC he excelled in SF and KC.
