Free agency would be even better with no franchise tag

Yeah I read about Dee Ford right after my last post. Don't know much about him but after doing some reading up, seems like a good pick up.
I agree that defense needs shoring up, I was thinking more in the secondary but this is a good move and should take off some of the pressure from them.
I was reading that the Niners were making a play for Bell too. I mean it would've been nice but not necessary. Running game was strong last season even when losing McKinnon for the full season, lets see what he can do this year now. But even then Breida, Mostert and Morris were more than serviceable in McKinnons absence.

Apparently the reports that Teddy Bridgewater had agreed to stay in New Orleans rather than take more money from the Dolphins were premature and he's visiting Miami today.

Wonder if it wasn't premature so much as he changed his mind. Local radio made a good point that he was taking a hell of a gamble waiting for a starting gig in NO instead of taking what's already there in Miami. Wonder if talk like that got him to reconsider.

Could be trying to get a better deal from New Orleans.

Sometimes the best moves to make are non at all.
After Philly signed the law firm of Jackson & Jackson, they kind of stayed quiet today.

The best moves are made in the draft and getting FA's for need not let's see how many or the biggest name we can sign. Some of these might work but a lot of these will backfire as they usually do. I heard a radio broadcaster compare free agency in the NFL to when you get a credit card and you go out and buy stuff with it and you feel so good but that interest comes along afterwards and your bill skyrockets and you regret what you bought.

The Saints restructured Drew Brees' contract to clear $10.8 million in cap space. The restructure means Brees will have a cap hit of $21.3 million in 2020, and Brees is not under contract past this season (they structured the contract so 2020 automatically voids), so if Brees stays with the Saints past this season they're going to have to get creative (and push more money down the road) so Brees doesn't have a $40 million cap hit.

They predicted Tyrell Williams would be the most expensive WR in free agency and so far they’re right. 4yrs 44million. Glad he went to Oakland because he used to burn the hell out of us as a Charger.

Got a lot of friends overreacting to us not getting one of the big RB FAs or any secondary help. It's still early and we can plug a lot of holes with the draft. In Howie We Trust.

I’m kind of scratching my head at both Ingram and Coleman signing pretty inexpensive. Makes me wonder if Philly will try to swing a trade for either Howard or Johnson?
Maybe they feel bring Djax back will help the current RB rotation a little with a spread field?

I have my concerns with Clowney. Yesterday on sports talk radio they were suggesting we could trade him for a top offensive lineman. We badly need help on the OL, especially since we haven't addressed it in freee agency.

I'm not crazy about the Djax signing, it's nice to have him back but I doubt he stays healthy for more than half the season. Howard would be nice but more likely, they'll draft a good young RB who won't be expensive and can fit right into the rotation. Crowell being released from the Jets also makes him an interesting option, but I somehow doubt we'll go for him.

So the true terms of Le'Veon Bell's deal are out and it's really a 2-year, $26 million deal then team options in the 3rd and 4th years:

The cash flow breakdown (without incentives) goes:

$14.5 million in total earnings through Year 1
$26 million in total earnings through Year 2
$39.5 million in total earnings through Year 3 (no guaranteed money is years 3-4)
$52.5 million in total earnings through Year 4
