Both Mayfield and coach Freddie Kitchens were searingly blunt with their Johnson comments after the back held out of OTAs but reported for minicamp. A coach is one thing, but a player, especially a young one, throwing a teammate under the bus during a trade/contract dispute is indeed an unusual look. This is not going to be the first time Mayfield provokes with his comments. He does not possess the filter that most other modern athletes are ingrained with as they come up through their respective sports.

I don't think anything he said on the subject of Duke spilling tears and demanding a trade out of place or out of line. He was acting like the leader of his team, but the problem is it doesn't look like his teammates have bought in yet.

The guy is clearly a talent, but his obvious abilities aside, Mayfield rubs me the wrong way. Granted when he was in play for the NYJ at the top of the draft, I wanted them to draft him as I felt like he could give the franchise a much needed shot in the arm and would invigorate the fanbase. I also felt like he could handle the bright lights of NY and the media spotlight there. As time passes though, he has begun to behave like a petulant child to me with these types of antics. I feel like he could use a heavy dose of maturity.

I disagree completely, he said nothing out of line and stated his thoughts on the matter. Maybe he could of hid his anger over it a little better but Duke trying to rip the locker room in half over his petty contract and playing time demands is the one who needs to grow up here imo.

Lets be honest Duke is like 3rd on the depth chart, and 3rd string running backs are not worth this kind of trouble imo! The browns would be smart to look at trading or just cutting him all together.

As long as Mayfield produces on the field, he can run his mouth off the field.

Which is what I think about pretty much any player. Talk all you want, just do your job as well.

Fair enough and I get it, but Duke is just like any other player in the league that's had contract issues, been disgruntled, etc. He's not the first and he damn sure won't be the last. Each guy handles it in their own way.

Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford played through small fractures in his back during the 2018 NFL season, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Mike O'Hara, who works for the Lions' official site, first reported the news (h/t MLive.com's Kyle Meinke), saying Stafford had "broken bones in his back."

The injury provides some context to what was one of Stafford's worst seasons in the NFL. He threw for 3,777 yards, 21 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. Football Outsiders ranked him 20th in DYAR (defense-adjusted yards above replacement) among the 34 quarterbacks with at least 200 attempts.

Stafford acknowledged last December he was dealing with a back injury.
