The first amendment protects people from going to jail but not much else.

People who believe things like 9/11 was a conspiracy utterly _ignore_ when their beliefs are challenged.

It doesn't matter that you can find hundreds of experts who tell you one thing as long as there's one who disagrees. That's the one they cling to.

Conspiracy is not appropriate because what happened on 9/11 is clearly the definition of a conspiracy. The idea that there are facts about 9/11 that the U.S. gov't doesn't want ppl to know is at the least, a very debatable topic. Objectivity is key. There are plenty of independent "experts" that don't work for the U.S. Gov't or the mainstream media that have based their 9/11 cover up theories off of facts. This is not the forum for this type of debate IMO, but there are many places that you can look up facts about 9/11 that will make you wonder.

Keep political discussion out of this thread please. Let's just talk about Football and stay on topic since a lot has happened over the course of the week.

Now scrolling and reading through the Mendenhall news. I won't delete any of those posts. Let's keep conspiracies, speculations off to the side. This is a Football thread, and there are other political forums you can discuss over there.

Report: Redskins front-runners for V. Young

I'd love to see the Redskins give Herzlich a try, he's such a low risk high reward bet that I don't know how anyone wouldn't want to give him a go.

Yeah, I don't understand how everyone passed on Herzlich in the draft. He was a beast his junior year. Last season he wasn't great and but if his cancer stays in remission and he bulks up again he could be a great player. He's also a great character guy. I would have thought someone would have used a late round pick on him.

I've already seen a ton of posts on various football forums arguing that. Freedom of speech merely gives you the right to say what you want to say. It doesn't mean you are free from other people exercising their own free speech in calling you an idiot.

Anyone else have a hard time seeing Favre as a successful coach? I just can't imagine that working out well.

Brett Favre mulling coaching, TV work

Brett Favre says he might become a coach or work as a television analyst in the future, though he has no plans to enter either field anytime soon.

The 41-year-old Favre ended a 20-year playing career after an injury-plagued 2010 season with the Minnesota Vikings.

The former Southern Mississippi star famously has wavered on retirement the past few offseasons. But the three-time NFL Most Valuable Player told WDAM-TV in Hattiesburg Thursday that he was "starting a new career."

Favre gave the interview at a football camp at Oak Grove High School. He says he's spent the past several months traveling and following Southern Miss baseball.

He submitted his retirement paperwork to the NFL in January.

I canceled my NFL ST. I just don't think the season will start on time (I hope I'll be wrong) and I'm not gonna pay for half a season at the price it is.

I strongly suspect the season will start on time. But even if it doesn't, DirecTV will prorate the package for however many games are played.

Would they really charge full price if that happened? Seems hard to believe they would. My guess is they'd reimburse for any part of the season not played.

I know our owner Wayne Weaver expressed several times reimbursing season tickets to everyone if there was no season. I guess it doesn't work the same for every team?

The reason why I'm canceling it cause while the season (if they have it) doesn't start until Sept. NFL ST subs have to renew it b4 then.

Right, but if games would be cut you would be reimbursed via credits to your account.

Don't get me wrong, I love DTV, but the NFL ST is really expensive and this year uncertainly about the season in limbo doesn't help things.

I'm not stopping with canceling NFL ST, I'm strongly considering not going to a home Colts game (I usually make it to 1 every season) cause of the owners and players fighting over 9 billion, just makes me angry as a fan.

Hopefully the Appeals Court decides to allow FA today. Otherwise a lot of veterans and undrafted rookies are going to lose out.

If they do end the lockout there are rumors that the owners might just shut down the league until a new labor deal is reached. I have no idea how realistic this scenario is. Regardless, I don't understand why the players refuse to negotiate for a new deal. I know they have the upper hand right now in the courts but if the appeals court sides with the owners and refuses to force the lockout to end the owners will have all the leverage again.

Who knows. I just find it frustrating that neither side is willing to budge. They claim to care about what the fans want, yet their actions totally contradict their statements.
