Garropolo's fine. No team would wanna throw the ball much when they rack up a 27-point lead and have a rushing attack as potent as SF's. He'll clearly be the second-best QB on the field in Miami but that doesn't mean he won't win.

Since there's no button for it ... Thumbs down. Pack didn't even show up.

I'd love to see the Niners get ahead first half of SB, then KC does it again with a massive comeback win! Go KC

Yep, Jerry's new puppet to help watch Dallas roll over for the next few years until the next coach. Until JJ isn't controlling every aspect, D will continue same routine. And no, not a D fan here.

Also i hate the all white.
Went thru this before -- i hate all white & i hate all 1 color.

I like:
a) color shirt & different color pants like 49ers had yesterday
b) white shirt & color pants
c) color shirt & white pants

Here's a look at a few other QB's stats in their first full season:

Drew Brees - 60.8 comp%, 3284 yds, 17 TD, 16 INT, 6.2 Y/A, 76.9 rating.

Tom Brady - 62.1 comp%, 3764 yds, 28 TD, 14 INT, 6.3 Y/A, 85.7 rating.

P. Manning - 56.7 comp%, 3739 yds, 26 TD, 28 INT, 6.5 Y/A, 71.2 rating.

Brett Favre - 60.9 comp%, 3303 yds, 19 TD, 24 INT, 6.3 Y/A, 72.2 rating.

I wonder if any of these guys were considered game managers during the aforementioned seasons. And here's Garoppolo's stats for comparison:

Jimmy G. - 69.1 comp%, 3978 yds, 27 TD, 13 INT, 8.4 Y/A, 102.0 rating.

There are a few major problems with this argument. First problem is comparing different eras. The NFL today is impossible to compare to the NFL of 15-25 years ago when those guys first started. The style of play, with rules practically making hitting the QB a high crime nowadays is nothing like what those guys experienced when they first because starting QB's.

Another problem is age and level of talent around them. I'm pretty sure all the names you mention (minus Brady), were much younger, fresh out of college on bad teams when they became starters for the first time.

I'm really not trying to knock Jimmy G here. I really do like the guy and his game lends itself very well to the Niners. I just don't really think he's going to develop any more than what we're seeing this season. He's 28 and rarely stays healthy for very long. I tend to think he'll remain a nice, but never great QB, and there's nothing wrong with that.

Jimmy G has been good all year he's no game manager. He can win a shootout.

This game will come down to the defenses.

Shanny still has nightmares of the 28-3 fiasco and his not running enough during that loss.
He seemed to have learned from his mistake.

Def ranks:
sf #2
kc #17

All the "def wins championships" peeps better hope sf wins.

KC is about -120 to win
Mahomes is +100 to be mvp
If you think KC wins might as well bet mahomes as mvp instead of kc moneyline
Slight risk but do get better odds
It will be almost impossible for KC to win & mahomes not be mvp.

This game is just too hard to pick.

I say Jimmy G leads them down the field and win by a FG ala Tom Brady. I don't trust the Chiefs defense.

All this talk about Garoppolo's passing in the Championship game, let me ask this - if you asked Aaron Rodgers if he would trade his 300+ pass yds and loss for a trip to the SB with only 77 yds passing, what do you think his answer would be? How about Lamar Jackson , who will be watching the SB from his couch? Would he trade his 59 pass attempts and a loss for a win with only 8 passes thrown? I'm pretty sure we all know what the answer would be.

Ok, Garoppolo's first full season in this era then:

Passing yds - 12th
Completion % - T-4th
Avg. Y/A - 3rd (has 100+ more atts and comps then the top 2)
TD - T-5th
QBR - 12th
RTG. - 8th
Heck he was even in the top ten in INT's. Not bad for a guy in charge of an offense that likes to run the ball.

And Garoppolo wasn't? He took over a team that was 1-10.

I just don't see how you can assume he's hit his ceiling already in just 28 games, unless you're some scouting guru. Look, in the long run you may end up being correct in you're assessment, but right now I think it's a little premature. Give him a few more seasons and see what happens. On the bright side, at least you didn't call him a "pretender". What the hell does that even mean?

Jimmy G is now 23-5. The 49ers were garbage before he got there and couldn't win a game when he got injured. Tom Brady actually felt threatened. He is the real deal.

Rodgers should have switched to Allstate. He'd be better protected against mayhem like Bosa.🤣🤣🤣

Too bad we couldn't get Seahawks 49ers part III. Would've been more interesting than the Packers getting blown out again.

Nobody really knows. Winning in the regular season is different than in the playoffs. Until we see Jimmy have to actually pass his way out of a deficit and win a big game on his arm alone, when the run game is stopped, we can't begin to say that he's the "real deal" (whatever that even means).
