Happy for Romo but really hope ESPN finds someone comparable for the MNF crew. Badly needs an upgrade.

Wow 17 a year and it goes well beyond 5 years they said. I think he will have made far more in his broadcasting career vs his playing now.

This is yet another example of players not looking at the big picture. What CBS pays Romo has absolutely nothing to do with the CBA.
How many players are bankrupt after the stadium lights go out? How many players are arrested before/during/after their NFL stint?
These are 20 year olds, who have been coddled from little league onward and, largely, have no idea what they want outside of “tonight’s excursion”
If they do their job well, they will make more money in 5-10 years than most people will make in 50 years.
Sorry, zero pity here. Normally I want these deals to get done as to not have any interruption of the NFL season, but I have to be honest...if these players dork up a great deal, because a few “elder statesmen” don’t like it...I would take some small pleasure in watching the lockout in a year.

Normally I'd agree it's all smoke-and-mirrors to drive up the price for the #2 pick, but the fact that this is all out there means the Skins apparently aren't 100% sold on Young. Otherwise why even bother trying to drive up the price if you don't intend to trade the pick?
