One view was that Brady would have stayed IF Pats had gotten him a WR. Either Diggs, Hopkins or anyone would have swayed his decision. That is why he waited until the dust had settled and see what the Pats could do. There was no reason for Brady to stay if he was just going to end up throwing to the same people as last year.

He has a short window to win and if the Pats couldn't deliver him pieces to win, why wouldn't he leave?

Brady might've stayed if they got him a true #1 receiver like Hopkins or Diggs.

Look at the weapons he has now in Tampa. They're going to the playoffs no question.

Brady leaving is just a clear reminder that no, whenever possible f*** the team friendly deal because all the promises of getting paid later never come to fruition.
