Yep i would agree with Ray L.
There have been studies showing crime drops during the super bowl.

Also during this week league meeting they changed the rule so now you can hit the qb in the head but a blatant hit will still be a 15yrd penalty.
Kinda makes the refs call more grey area but they had to get rid of those cheap hits that would be flagged.

Really? Where I'm from people just get liquored up at the game or pub and end up getting into fights, causing vandelism and often drunken driving during gameday. I swear everytime I go to a Jags game I see tons of people hop right in their cars and drive away after a full day drinking binge.

Yea I know and I was going to bring that up, but at the same time they aren't spending hours out doing nothing. Or trying to find something to do, as most fans probably put their lives on hold for the day or for a few hours.

This lockout NEEDS to end ASAP, as a NFL fan (like lots are) are sick and tired of it.

The NFL lockout won't prevent Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones from going to the wedding of star quarterback Tony Romo.

At the NFL owners meetings in Indianapolis, Jones said Wednesday that he'll attend Tony Romo's wedding on Saturday in Dallas.

"I've gotten special permission," Jones said Wednesday. "But more than anything, [I got the] right ticket from him and his fiancee -- Romo's wife to be. [It's] one of prettiest invitations I've ever seen.

"So, yes, I will be there and [I'm] proud for him. He's got the best end of this deal."

It's much about nothing right now. What are we even missing by there being a lockout at the morning, spring workouts? If you actually find life depressing because you can't see a bunch of players going through boring drills you probably need a new hobby. As long as a deal is done by the start of the season I'm good with it.

We've already missed free agentcy, and that's a pretty important part in the off season.

Free agency could happen in July if necessary, would give them about a month to do it before camps begin, assuming there's a season.

While I dislike the Steelers (GO RAVENS!!!!!) I TOTALLY agree with Woodley and Harrison on this one. Stop punishing people for hard hits. I can understand late hits or illegal hits on defenseless players, but a lot of the things called last year were BS. Plain and simple.

Basically any hit that jars the QB these days gets a flag. It's getting to the point I'd rather not have anyone rushing the QB and just play run stoppage with heavy cover. Go for INT's all the time because if you hit Manning/Brady/Romo/etc you're going to give them 15 yards anyways.

I think it's important to protect defenseless plays, and it needs to be done. But there is no need to punish hard hits that are legal. I am glad they are loosening up on the quarterback hits. Accidental head contact shouldn't be flagged, and they did the right thing by changing the verbiage on it to make more judgment calls.

If he does come to New England I'd imagine it would be on a low base salary deal with a lot of incentives so if he causes a problem they can cut him without much risk.
Nah man Randy Moss going back to NE on a reduced rate.

A Dallas grand jury has indicted Aqib Talib for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon stemming from a March incident where he and his mother both reportedly shot a gun at his sister's boyfriend. As Talib has multiple prior offenses this could result in a significant suspension once there is a new CBA.

FoxSports.com's Adam Caplan believes the Eagles are indeed interested in free agent Plaxico Burress, as reported by the New York Daily News a week ago.
Personnel sources tell Caplan that coach Andy Reid has always been impressed by Burress' ability to "beat coverage with his size." In eight Giants games against the Eagles, Plax has racked up 650 yards and seven TDs -- five coming in the red zone, where Reid's teams have struggled of late. Plax will have to prove in public workouts that he still has some semblance of that elite ability as he enters his mid-30s.

Are you saying it'll be with replacement players? I'm not watching that! BTW, when do I start worrying about this lockout ending?

The heck it isn't... Just like in past seasons new players would emerge as great players. Otherwise this league would fall apart every time a few superstars drop off (NFL didn't stop being awesome because LT sucks now, or Plax isn't in the league, or Kurt Warner left. Instead you get guys like Flacco coming up, Jamaal Charles, and Calvin Johnson), its always been about the teams never these players.

I trust you. That's a good explanation. I just don't want there to be any games missed. I'd give my left nu......BD collection to not have to miss any games.

I mean it would be like preseason for awhile don't get me wrong, but eventually incoming draft classes, FA's exc. would get it back to normal.

A MASSIVE drop in talent would cause a different game instead of losing a 1-10 superstars a year.
