Count yo blessings.

talent yes, but also a meddlesome owner who will override and/or undermine his coaching staff because he knows best.
If/when the Cowboys do well its in spite of, not because of him

He's going to coast on those Super Bowl 27, Super Bowl 28 and Super Bowl 30 victories for the rest of his life. Time will yell if his yes man son will be a better owner.

Jerruh gets credit for hiring Jimmy. Jimmy gets credit for the rest. Team was built so well they won a third on autopilot.
Once the meddling started, the championships vanished.
Oh how I love that ego!

I get what you are saying but don't think I can agree. With DAL you probably get your hopes up to an extent. With DET you probably have your expectations set at low and may be pleasantly surprised every 10 years or so.

"We want to throw the ball down the field," Roseman said matter of factly. "We don’t want to be station-to-station football — that’s not what coach (Doug) Pederson wants.” The Eagles have been hunting for more of a down-field element for several years but keep getting sidelined by injuries, including DeSean Jackson's in 2019. D-Jax is returning for 2020, but Roseman took matters into his own hands during the draft, selecting three speed-demon wideouts, highlighted by first-rounder Jalen Reagor. After years of an efficiency-at-all-costs mindset, NFL offenses are slowly beginning to open up again. Coming off a white-hot finish with an enfeebled supporting cast, Carson Wentz will be a highly-intriguing re-draft option this season.

The Athletic's Bob McGinn believes Packers coach Matt LaFleur has "simply had enough of (Aaron) Rodgers’ act and wanted to change the narrative" with the team's selection of Utah State QB Jordan Love.
McGinn, of course, is Mr. Packers, having covered the team for decades. It is important to emphasize this is merely his opinion, but it is notable nonetheless. In his own words, McGinn now believes the Packers have "leverage with their imperial quarterback and his passive-aggressive style." The Packers are not only thinking toward the future, but a more run-heavy one. This could get publicly ugly and bitter in a hurry, though there is still every reason to believe Rodgers will remain in Titletown for 2020.

Why’s it a week later? Planning for a delayed start to the season?

Cleveland was given the draft a yr ago so theyve already made plans for things.

Maybe to get the weather a little warmer.

Winston's 30 interceptions tanked his chances of being an NFL starter in 2020, but of all backup jobs, the Saints' one is arguably the best. He will get to learn under a quarterback allergic to turnovers in Drew Brees this season and could inherit the starting job when Brees retires, which likely will be after this season. Winston's arm talent would shine in the Superdome with coach Sean Payton, Michael Thomas, Alvin Kamara, Emmanuel Sanders, and Jared Cook if he's forced into action at some point this season. As a 25-year-old last season, Winston averaged 8.2 yards per attempt on his way to 5,109 yards. Winston is a project worth working on, especially at his reduced price tag.

Being around a consummate professional like Brees is going to be good for him.

I was thinking Pittsburgh for Winston, but the same situation applies in New Orleans too where he can sit and learn and the same offense will still be in place when QB1 retires.

Winston isn't fixable. I've watched every professional snap he's ever taken. He doesn't know who to throw to. He doesn't know when to throw. He's the most indecisive QB I have ever seen and I've been watching football for over 50 years. He holds the ball way too long hence the 47 sacks last year and 50 fumbles in 5 years. Not only did he have the 30 ints last year, he had 21 more potential int's dropped by the opposing team. Look at some highlights with him and Mike Evans. A high percentage of the completions to Mike were just thrown up jump balls that Evans has a talent to go up and get. He's a bum and always will be.

Fair enough, but given the current climate, you'd think they'd just push things back a year.

Count me in as one who LOVED the format this year. Not thrilled about going back to the old format.

I wish it was like this every year. More fun seeing the rookies at home (and the coaches/GMs at home)
