It never goes according to plan it seems with this position these days, i don't know if the sport has just become so extreme that these guys cant last past their rookie deals, but the days of Emmett Smith's or Curtis Martin's and a solid decade of use from them seem to be few and far between now.

He was close but didn't quite hit that ten year mark, also was a physical freak until his injury. If he stayed healthy he would of certainly rolled past what many of the greats have done imo.
Still though, i think we can all agree that while Cook is very good, imo he is a dime a dozen back right now and certainly no AP. This is a quick strike league today, 6 yards and a cloud of dust just doesn't get it done anymore unless you have a stout never break defense to control the clock. If i'm spending money it is on top end receivers and a top end QB. |

True or false... Kaep will be on an NFL roster by week 1 of the preseason?

Now I think if he was in the league still, he'd be better than some of the starters we've seen...but it depends on price tags too. There's no way Kaep should start in the NFL, or even deserve a roster spot over someone like Cam Newton |

He fit Harbaugh's system at the time, rode that wave until it died and Harbaugh was fired. Tomsula and Kelly didn't run the same system, didn't know how to use him and the deal Kaep signed made it easy for the Niners to part with him. Even had the kneeling issue not become a national story, he would've been gone. If he was any other QB he would've become a journeyman or back up somewhere but no team wants the baggage that comes with him. It's a business, pretty simple concept when it comes down to it but media gonna media. And that's not to dismiss the social issue at the core of his protest however he grants no interviews, gives no deep insight on complex issues. Any statements he does make are shallow, reductive Twitter posts (which sadly is what media and social media echo chambers champion) which are fed to him by his girlfriend/mouthpiece. I think its great he donates time and money to good causes but he is nowhere near, not even close to someone like Mohammad Ali. Nike made Kaep a marketing tool, useful idiot to sell more product. Sorry for the rant but its hilarious that players and others in the media are saying to give him his job back. You are going to MAKE someone sign him?!?! That's laughable. |

There's apparently a HOF push for Kaep now, which I find kinda fascinating. And re: Cam -- I think he's waiting for a potential injury in training camp/preseason. |
