Of those he only played well in two of five. I can overlook playoff dissapointment should a player be consistently elite in the regular season like P. Manning or Marino. Except for 2004, he was never an elite quarterback. McNabb was always in the very good tier.
There's more to it besides Pro Bowls. Only Simms and Stabler should get in before McNabb. Before the Redskins fiasco McNabb was right up there with the "elite" guys, Manning, Brady, and Brees.

McNabb has my HOF vote if he goes in as a Redskin

But I'd say he's done enough to get in. Even with my Iggls hate, and I know our wonderful cowboys fan groups him with Romo, but Romo hasn't been successful near as long as McNabb was nor has he gotten as deep as many times in the playoffs as McNabb has even though they both share the same failure rate

The only way mcnabb gets into the hall of fame is if he goes to visit.

I do think Randall Cunningham should get in eventually, even if he was only a shell of his former self in Dallas.

McNabb has done nothing better statistically or team wise than any qb on this list. You have to be a truly special qb to get onto this list and McNabb is not in that category.

Randall Cunningham is not a HOF QB. He had a nice couple of years but did nothing of impact with the teams he played on. We are really lowering our standards if Randall Cunningham is a HOFer. Let's put Daunte Culpepper in next.

Team wise you might be right, but statistically? Plenty of those guys put up lousy numbers compared to McNabb.

Joe Namath
173 TD's
220 Int's
50.1% career completion rate
Career record as a starter: 62-63-1

I know his numbers look terrible in part because of different eras but they still suck. His accuracy makes Tim Tebow look good by comparison. He's in the HOF because he played for NY and was the face of the Super Bowl upset win over Baltimore. Even in the playoffs his numbers were crap - 3 TD, 4 picks in three games. He has to be the most overrated QB in NFL history.

You leave Broadway Joe alone! Yeah I look at the numbers also and never understood how he got in, he's just one anomaly though.

Bobby Layne was nothing special either.

Regular season:
196 TD
243 Int
49.0% comp Rate
63 QB rating

Playoffs:
1 TD, 12 Int
47.4% completion rate

I think he was joking with the Culpepper over Cunningham statement. If he wasn't it's the most uninformed post ever. Their numbers aren't even comparable.

Yeah they did

McNabb:

9th most winning QB of all time prior to this year with the vikings,
17th passing yards
15th in yards all time
3rd all time in INT %
23rd all time in QB Rating
22nd in Touchdowns all time
One of only 5 QBs with 30k passing and 3k rushing.

And during that stretch of NFC championships these were his wideouts

Na Brown
James Thrash
Freddie Mitchell
Todd Pinkston
Dameane Douglas
Antonio Freeman
Gregg Lewis
Terrell Owens

Only one of those would I have wanted.

He deserves to be in, I'll never rank him elite or someone I'd want hands down, but as far as great qbs he's got that.

True I've always though Namath was overrated and got in the Hall because of THE GAME that he had. But he still has THAT GAME. McNabb doesn't.

I hope so. I would think Darth is pretty knowledgeable to really believe that.

Yes Namath sucks had he played with the Raiders and had 1 good game he'd not have gotten in with those Dilfer statistics

Wow didn't know his playoff numbers were bad but he has the titles and All Decade in the 50's. That will get you in.

Ya, it does look like he had a very good record as a starter and was on two really good Lions championship teams. I suppose that made up for poor personal numbers in the playoffs.

Makes you wonder how his team won championships with those numbers. Must have ran the ball and played great defense, got turnovers on defense or the other teams just flat out sucked. Have to do some research on that.

Well a question they've been asking on the Cowboys forums all season then, how many rings does Romo need to get in? I say just 1 but I think it's highly unlikely he will win one with our team the way it is, we need help on both lines and in the secondary.

Even if we're going to make it a team based award now in-which case yes he shouldn't get it. He's still posted personal numbers that make him one of the top 20 qbs of all time. So then it becomes how much higher must one be to get into the HOF .
