Sure they would. You don't think it wouldn't have been cycled through social media? It wasn't just the shady QB-change, it was the obvious play calls which gave no chance to Philly being competitive.

And if it wasn't flexed to be the final game with everyone watching, Pederson wouldn't have done it to begin with, oddly enough. That probably speaks to his arrogance, more than anything.

The same people who are up-in-arms about us blatantly losing a meaningless game are the same people who'd be calling Pederson an idiot for winning it and sacrificing the better draft pick.

They covered the "I'm putting Sudafed in!!" excuse during the broadcast. As agreed upon there, it doesn't match up to what we saw in the context of the game on Sunday.

And those "same people" are idiots. So, they're going to be idiots tomorrow as they were yesterday. Why are you worried about the opinions of those people?

Not worried about anyone's opinions, just the fallacy that winning is always the most important thing. I get that it is for the players, but as soon as a team is eliminated from playoff contention, the smartest thing to do is focus on next year, and that means draft positioning. (The only caveat being if their pick belongs to another team, in which case there's perhaps more strategy involved in not wanting the other team to benefit.)

Players are contractors. They come and go. I'm a fan of the Eagles as a team and organization, and I want them to do what's best for themselves in the long run. It absolutely could've been handled better (Sudfeld could've started, other key players could've been benched/de-activated from the jump), but whatever. The reports of Pederson losing the locker room over this are a little concerning but not because of what Pederson did, just the short-sightedness of players investing so much in a game that really didn't matter for them. (Yeah it's a division game, but I dunno why we'd care if the Giants or WFT made the playoffs, it's six of one vs. half-dozen of the other.)

When is forfeitting ever a realistic proposition? And no one's making anyone tune in to watch these games; there wasn't even anyone in attendance.

I was rooting for WFT to win the other night because it would've been an abomination if a 6-10 team had gone to the playoffs.

If anyone wonders what the lowest wins a team could have to make the playoffs is, the answer is zero. All four teams in a division could have a 0-10-6 record, tying all 6 division games while losing the rest. No wonder many people are calling for the system to be changed.

To be fair, they were in a precarious position. If SEA-SF or CAR-NO had been the SNF game, the Saints or Seahawks would have nothing to play for with the top 2 seeds already locked up. Well, I guess Seattle would be vying for the #2 seed with the Saints winning the afternoon game, but they'd be playing a banged-up Niners at home.

It's sad to see so much made out of this. It's very likely the WFT would have won anyway. For one thing, they already had the lead, and another, they have allowed fewer second half points than any other team in the league (by far). Hurts was playing very poorly but no one mentions that. To think that a 6-10 team believes they should be in the playoffs is absurd.

plenty have said Hurts was playing badly. just thought it would have been better to keep him in the game win or lose. to give him some experience in a moment like that which i thought was best. being switched in & out doest seem to really help these young guys. didnt care for how the Eagles handled the game but im not gonna get bothered by it either. Pederson winning a SB helped so hes gonna get off a little easier with the organization in these last 2-3 years.
