If it DOES happen, it will be after the completion of the 2022 season so at least 2 more seasons on DTV.

NFLN had a deal with cable that they have to show a certain # of games.

I’m all for more options with NFL Sunday Ticket. ESPN+ would be a good home for it.

Saw this....

* Amazon becomes the exclusive home of Thursday Night Football from 2022

* CBS retains the rights to Sunday afternoon AFC games - games can be simulcasted on Paramount+

* Under a new 11 year deal, ESPN retains the rights to Monday Night Football. ABC will air 2 Super Bowls (in 2026 & 2030) + 3 exclusive regular season games (which will be part of a doubleheader with ESPN showing a different game). ESPN+ will have the exclusive rights to 1 International Series game each season and will be able to simulcast all games shown on ESPN & ABC.

* FOX retains the rights to Sunday afternoon NFC games. They've gained expanded digital rights for platforms like Tubi (which will air games regionally)

* NBC retains the rights to Sunday Night Football. Peacock will simulcast all SNF games and will offer an exclusive feed for a select number of games over the course of the agreement.

* NFL Network will air a select number of exclusive games each year. However, Ourand reports in the link litred50 posted that they could air as few as 2 TNF games each season.

* Super Bowl: CBS (2023, 2027 & 2031), Fox (2024, 2028 & 2032) and NBC (2025, 2029 & 2033) will air 3 each during the span of the new agreement while ESPN/ABC will show 2 (in 2026 & 2030)

* There'll be an increased ability for the NFL to flex games to both SNF and MNF. Additionally, all partners will have a greater ability to provide interactive elements as part of their digital presentations while select games will have alternative presentations (eg; like the Nickelodeon Wild Card broadcast this year)

I wonder if fox will start doing the 4:25pm Sunday games in 4k now. I hope so since they are not doing Thursday night games anymore.
