I only follow CFB casually so as a Niner fan I am clueless as to anyone other than Lawrence, who is obviously going #1. Lots of speculation says its Jones but for some reason fans aren't digging this news. I trust Shanahan and Lynch though. The general plan now though seems to let the next year or two be to develop whoever they draft, hope they strike gold like a Mahommes, which is fine enough I suppose, overall the skill positions on offense and the defense are young, already good and barring injury will still be even better when whoever they draft has had time to develop.
Overall I guess I am a little impatient, they came within a quarter of winning a SB and last season was lost due to a crazy curse of injuries. Jimmy has never been terrible but nothing spectacular either.

Gamble with Jimmy G and then gamble again by trading down to the 30 teams who might give up a king's ransom for Kyle Pitts (note: rightfully so). There are a crapload of mid-tier, first round playoff exit teams who would gladly give up multiple years of high picks for him.

By trading down you might be able to pick up Trey Lance later. Don't just burn that pick when all of those teams are salivating over the opportunity.

Personal note: I believe my LA Rams have traded all of their first round picks until 2035.
