Titans wide receiver Kenny Britt was arrested yet again on Wednesday, this time for resisting arrest, tampering with evidence, and obstructing government functions. He allegedly crushed a cigar containing marijuana when approached by narcotics officers and tried to escape. Just 2 days ago Britt pleaded guilty to reduced charges for a traffic offense in which he was originally charged with a felony for eluding police. As Britt has been arrested numerous times he could face a lengthy suspension depending on if the NFLPA agrees that arrests during the lockout are subject to discipline.

Both detectives identified themselves as police, Williams said, and attempted to handcuff Britt, who allegedly tried to wrestle free and push away while attempting to crush the cigar in his fist. Williams said police believe a man who was with Britt may have disposed of the cigar in the scuffle as police wrestled Britt to the floor and handcuffed him; the other man has not been charged.
Britt is charged with obstructing the administration of the law, resisting arrest and tampering with or fabricating evidence. Police did not recover the cigar or find any drugs on Britt, and he has not been charged with any drug-related offenses. Britt was released on his own recognizance, according to police, and has a June 16 court date.
So they failed to find the cigar/dope? Sounds fishy to me. He'll get this thrown out of court. No doubt in my mind. Goodell and the NFL are a different story...
For the first time since the lockout began 91 days ago, there appears to be genuine optimism that owners, coaches, players and fans will be able to get on with their football-loving lives, and it could happen in the next few weeks.
CBSSports.com's Mike Freeman was the first to report reasons for optimism. Way back on June 2, Freeman wrote that "There is a still a great deal of work to do ... but it appears the owners and players have made significant headway in reaching a new labor agreement, according to multiple sources familiar with the discussions.
"One high ranking member of the former union estimated to me a new deal would be reached within two to three weeks, if not sooner. 'This is the most optimistic I’ve been in many months,' he said."
Barely a week later, that appears to be happening.
Friday night, NFL Network's Albert Breer reported that players and owners have made substantial progress in recent days towards a new collective bargaining agreement.
And Saturday morning, Sports Business Journal's Daniel Kaplan tweeted: "Told optimism is so high in NFL, players talks over labor deal that expectation is for a framework agreement in about two weeks."
But it gets better. The Houston Chronicle's Lance Zierlein recently blogged that "According to a couple of sources, NFL lockout could be over sooner than you think."
"After lengthy discussions with both sources, they both conveyed to me a great deal of hope that a deal would be done by July and possibly as early as late June," Zierlein wrote. "Why the sudden optimism? According to one of the sources, 'both sides are focusing on the percentage of total revenue coming in (would include the first $1 billion the owners are currently taking off the top) and if that deal gets done, the other issues will probably fall into place fairly quickly according to what I'm hearing.'"
Another source told Zierlein that "I am 100 times more hopeful than two weeks ago that a deal can get done relatively quickly."
Pro Football Weekly's Eric Edholm also hears things, all positive: "Sources have indicated to PFW that June 21, which is when the NFL owners are scheduled to meet in Chicago, might be a date to circle on the calendar. The reason for the escalated talks might indicate that the owners want to have a deal — or parameters of a deal — to vote on when they all assemble for the meeting."
That makes five different sources reporting a variation on the "things are looking really good" theme. Nothing's concrete but as we stated last night: it's a start, we'll take it.
And as momentum builds toward a resolution, this becomes less about taking sides and more about finding common ground and getting a deal done. It may have taken three months to arrive at this point, but as Breer noted Friday, it's not yet the 11th hour. If a new CBA is reached, even in principle, there could be time for free agency and training camps, and the 2011 NFL season would start as scheduled.
Sure, this fight has been framed as a battle between billionaires and millionaires. That's not entirely true, but given the economic climate, fans have little sympathy for either side. (Also not helping: the occasional attempts at public relations obfuscation.) They just want football. And it finally looks like that will happen, perhaps a lot sooner than anyone ever expected. To quote Austin Powers: "Yay, capitalism!"
I actually hope he gets to go to the Vikings, or Cards. I think he could put up some nice numbers with a fully functioning team...
On the other hand I wouldn't mind seeing him lobbing it up to Leonard Hankerson, and maybe if god doesn't hate me too much Malcolm Kelly will finally not be injured and we can see what he's got. O line is still garbage so I do worry about that

Hankerson will be a love/hate player for you, he'll make incredible catches and then drop easy ones. He almost turned me into a raging maniac at times when he was at The U.

Basically they fought vowed to drag it out to the courts, but now both sides are meeting without fighting and rhetoric, and it looks like we could have a deal before the courts get even more involved.

He has hired Drew Rosenhaus as his agent, and Rosenhaus said he expects Pryor to be a first round pick. Most people believe he will be a mid-late round pick, and some believe he won't be picked at all. It's not currently known when or if there will be a supplemental draft due to the uncertain CBA, but usually it is held in July.

Depending on the situation Free will either be a restricted or unrestricted free agent, however, once the Cowboys say they want to keep a guy, they keep him. I can’t think of a guy they let walk that they really wanted to keep over the last few years.

According to that ranking it puts him as the fifth-best left tackle in the NFC behind Carolina’s Jordan Gross (No. 4), Philadelphia’s Jason Peters (No. 7), Tampa Bay’s Donald Penn (tied for No. 8) and Green Bay’s Chad Clifton (No. 12).
The guys at ProFootballFocus said Free had the fifth-best season of any left tackle in pass blocking efficiency in their rankings.
Last year’s NFC Pro Bowlers, who were either picked for the game or added later, were Gross, Atlanta’s Tyson Clabo, Penn and Clifton. That’s a solid group but Free has the potential to be as good or better than them.

It all depends on which sports are in season. As of right now: 65% hockey, 10% MLB (most of which is Toronto Blue Jays garbage), 10% CFL then the rest is divided amongst everything else happening. Sometimes the only reason I stick around is to catch the Top 10.
Well unlike Troy Smith I do think Pryor has the physical talents to be a very good NFL QB. Of course it's never been Pryor's physical talents in question, it's his terrible decision-making off the field. I'd be very surprised if he actually turned himself around mentally.
