Ex-NFL player Josh Bellamy gets 3 years in prison for COVID relief fraud

Former NFL player Josh Bellamy has been sentenced to three years and one month in federal prison for fraudulently obtaining over $1.2 million in COVID-19 relief funds.

Bellamy, 32, of St. Petersburg, Florida, was sentenced Friday in Tampa federal court, according to court records. He pleaded guilty in June to conspiracy to commit wire fraud. Besides serving prison time, Bellamy must also pay restitution.

According to court records, Bellamy obtained a Paycheck Protection Program loan of $1.2 million for his company, Drip Entertainment LLC, using falsified documents and false information. Bellamy admitted to using the loan proceeds on personal items, such as jewelry and a stay at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. Bellamy also sought loans on behalf of his family members and close associates.

At this point, it says more about Dallas if they lose the division than if they win it.

Philly is rudderless as long as Roseman is the GM. The Giants are reportedly doubling-down on Joe Judge, so they won't be relevant anytime soon. WFT actually seems to be getting their act together, but nothing good lasts in Landover.

After spending more than a decade with the Detroit Lions, Matthew Stafford has become known for his lack of wins against good teams. Not only is he winless in the playoffs, but he hasn’t exactly won big games, either.


That changed on Monday night, though. With a severely short-handed roster that was missing six starters in total, Stafford delivered with a 30-23 win over the Cardinals, who were leading the league at 10-2.

Stafford completed 23 of 30 passes for 287 yards and three touchdowns, helping carry the offense to victory with arguably his best performance yet. Incredibly, this was his first win against a team with at least 10 wins, going 0-9 in such games before tonight.

He was also 0-17 against teams that were five-plus games above .500 and only 10-70 against teams with a winning record.

This isn't particularly surprising news given Snyder's track record, but it only adds to the atrocity of what is going on with the Washington Football Team. The report alleges that Snyder's lawyers tried to prevent Wilkinson from contacting the accuser and offered additional money beyond the original settlement to the accuser in order to not talk about her experiences.

The way they are struggling in games at home i would not be surprised if they go one and done come playoff time. The light is too bright for Kingsbury and co. they need to get more battle tested.

They're too young/inexperienced. Ertz is probably the most veteran/playoff-tested guy on their roster. Even JJ Watt doesn't have much postseason success.

Still, they're talented enough to win a game, especially if they end up as the #2 and have to play the #7.
