His accuracy is the biggest drawback to me, he's simply not that accurate of a passer. He was a good but not great college quarterback, he never lived up to the hype coming out of high school. It's amazing how Cam Newton did more for his school than Pryor did.

Starting at guard for the Washington Redskins during Thursday’s players-only practice: Quarterback John Beck.

At cornerback: Some random dude in the crowd.

Shemar Woods of the Washington Post notes that London Fletcher asked a small group of fans watching their workout Thursday if they were ready to suit up. Only one of them, 28-year-old Josh Richards, was prepared for the moment.

Richards put on his cleats and participated in the team’s individual drills. Richards assisted the players setting up cones, and jumped into an interception drill, dropping only one pass on the first go-around.

He said he played high school football and his favorite team was the Redskins, so the workout was a huge thrill.

“The terminology is crazy,” Richards said. “I told them I would be ready if they needed me.”

The Packers got their Super Bowl rings last night. The G is made up of 13 diamonds to celebrate the team's 13 titles (4 Super Bowls, 9 NFL championships). On the inside of the ring the scores of all the playoff games are listed.

Just curious, but what is the price tag for a ring of the caliber? That is one beautiful ring.

oh yes boys!!! here's to hoping for another run if football ever starts this year!!

i was a little irked @ the fact when the radio guy this morning said this was the 1st time all of the players were together since the lockout started.

i would've hoped rodgers would've organized a few team workouts!!

anything i find on google says the rings cost $5k each on avg.

the packers new rings are 3.35 carats each.

13 diamonds in the "G" for their 13 championships
4 football shaped diamonds for their 4 super bowls
92 other diamonds representing the Packers 92 year history.

That is very cool that they used their history put onto the ring!

The Packers wouldn't say how much each ring cost, but I heard that it was likely around $20,000. The NFL pays for 150 rings at $5,000 each, and teams have to pay for any amounts over $5,000 or if they want to buy more than 150 rings.

In 2005 I got to put on a Patriots Super Bowl ring that wide receiver Dedric Ward received for being on the 2004 Super Bowl champions. It was at a bar in Chattanooga before Northern Iowa (Ward's Alma Mater) played in the FCS title game. That ring was heavy and if you wore it long enough your hand would seriously get tired.

i've seen 1 super bowl ring up close.....i can't remember his name but he was a RB on the Giants when they won the super bowl back in 1990 or whenever it was.

he had some big hands and it still took up a good size on his finger!!

I met a Dolphins player when he was with the undefeated Dolphins and I saw his ring and he let me hold it but I could not wear it because it was too big for my fingers but it was awesome!

The Nashville Tennessean's Jim Wyatt does not expect Chris Johnson to report to Titans' training camp without a new contract.
Wyatt says Johnson was "still being politically correct" when asked about his contract situation on Saturday, but does not expect him to report this year without a new deal. After settling for a small raise last summer, Johnson, who is currently set to make a base salary of $800,000 in 2011, said he would seek a "history deal" this year. It sounds like that is indeed still his plan.

Yesterday on often-arrested Titans receiver Kenny Britt's Facebook page a message appeared stating "Retiring from the NFL. F*** You Goddell.” 25 minutes later a post stated “Change of HEart. My family is always here for me. I made mistakes and i am sorry i am going to change and become a better person and mentor for all my young fans. I will accept any penalty like a man. The road beings Sept 11 in Jacksonville. ill be ready!!!” In a third post Britt claimed “my fbook was hacked with those past 2 status’s, i am not retiring and do not have any hate toward the commissioner.”

So details of the proposed CBA have come out. Some of the main points:
-Players would get 48% of all revenue. In the prior deal players got almost 60% but that was after the owners took $1 billion so the players were actually getting about 53%.
-Teams will have to spend almost 100% of the salary cap. In the prior deal teams had to spend 90% but that was in cap figures, not cash.
-The NFL will go to a 16 game Thursday night schedule starting in 2012. There is talk that the league may bid out the entire package, or that they may bid out the first half of the season and keep the second half on NFL Network.
-Players will be unrestricted free agents after 4 years, as was the case in the prior CBA.
-The franchise tag would still exist, although there could be limits on how many times it can be used on a player.
-A rookie wage scale will be part of the deal but specifics haven't been decided.
-Benefits will improve for current and retired players.

Overall it seems like both sides are making some serious concessions, so hopefully this gets done and free agency can start early next month. I would expect Bills owner Ralph Wilson and Bengals owner Mike Brown to vote against the deal because of the spending requirements, but all the league needs is 24 owners in favor of the deal.
