The Chiefs are in a different situation though, they went to the AFC championship game and are somewhat restricted by the big contracts. A lot of picks for them might create a better team within the salary cap.

I hate to jinx us, but I'm getting the Patriot vibe in some of the Chiefs recent decisions. Not that Tyreek is a year out from "the performance cliff" but when viewing the benefit of picks AND salary cap...that's a lot of room to get better performance (and younger/cheaper) at a lot of different areas of weakness or build up areas of strength.

The more I get passed the shock, the more I see this as a potential positive. Do think the Chiefs will take a step back...sure, especially in what each of the other AFC West teams have done. But, I think it's a smart move take the "hit" this year for the benefits after this upcoming season.

You got a massive haul and didn't have to pay a WR QB money. It hurts yes but it was the right choice for the Chiefs in the long-term.

Yes F them picks worked out this season for the Rams, easily couldn't have though. But beyond the Super Bowl win its looks like they won't be set to contend long term. Miller already gone, OBJ still able to sign elsewhere. NFC west will be competitive with Niners and maybe Cards contending.

Yeah they haven't won the Super Bowl in their 62 years of existence but this will be their year!

I do want it. Baker, when healthy, is pretty good. But last year was injured, and never mind the fact he was in dysfunctional Cleveland where he played for three head coaches.
