I thought the same as you. In addition as El Rey said, the perception (and maybe fact) is EB is not the primary play caller. Locally the conjecture is Reid has 51% of the final decision on which play is called.

Whether it's true or not, the new role would allow EB have the sole control of the offense...so as the Commander's offense goes, so will EB's success or failure.

I like this new role for EB. I also like having someone new involved in the KC Offense.

Another xfl rule nfl is looking at is no onside kicks.
Team just goes for it 4th & 15 on their own 25.
Love it.
Onside kicks are basically unrecoverable so this makes it way more interesting.

For sure. Thats 100% a rule that needs to be brought over to the NFL.

The 4th and 15 plays at the end of the game made it so much more exciting. So far 3/4 of them have failed but thats with subpar players and guys like Paxton Lynch at QB.

Also loved the Kickoff rule and the no extra point rule after TD.

Make those changes, and then put in the OT rules for College and you have the perfect NFL Football Game.

On this whole Rodgers thing...

What’s interesting to me is that Rodgers is doing to Love what Favre did to him (waffling back & forth, holding the organization hostage, delaying the maturation of a draft pick). He didn’t like it being done to him, so why’s he doing the same thing to another young QB?

I mean yeah we have to consider it, but unless Young or Stroud somehow falls to 5 i dont see us pulling the trigger. We have too many holes on defense that we need to fill.
