IMO, any game that is nationally televised is prime time - I know the league does not see it like that. I don’t care what it classifies as, as long as I get to watch my team which I normally cannot.

But again, on paper its a meh matchup for folks who aren't Lions or Chiefs fans I would guess.
The people that think it’s a meh matchup are casual fans who don’t follow closely. Probably doesn’t help with Detroit’s historic dysfunctional past, even though key word is past.

The term prime time is often defined in terms of a fixed time period—for example (in the United States), from 8:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. (Eastern and Pacific Time) or 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. (Central and Mountain Time).

Primetime games are those on nbc / espn / abc / nfln / amzn / peacock.
Exceptions are international games / black friday / wk15 & wk18 saturday.
Some games on cbs & fox can be national games but none are primetime games.

Max number of scheduled primetime games is 6 which dal/kc/buf/lac all got.
Teams can get flexed into a 7th during the season.
They can also be flexed into an 8th but only wk18.

Its not a Primetime game its a unopposed nationally televised game

NFL did a solid and showed Lions and Jets the love, its now up to the players to make it so its exciting.

They did frontload DET & NYJ primetime games in case they fall apart later in the season.

3 of 4 DET games are 1st 8 wks.
4th is DAL so thats not going anywhere anyway.

4 of 5 NYJ games are 1st 10 wks.
4th is in the flexzone & even their 5th maybe too pending owners vote next wk.

I like what the Texans did in the draft. With the new head coach and these picks it's finally starting to feel like they're building a foundation of a team. The last couple of seasons have been pretty dark with a bunch of players most of the fans were indifferent about and placeholder coaches. Literally two of the worst seasons in the history of the franchise. People are actually excited about the Texans again.

Matt Ryan is joining CBS as an analyst though he is not yet retiring from the league.

At the very least, they'll be fun to watch this year. They'll start getting better soon after.

They have a very favorable schedule. Only five games against playoff teams and the third easiest schedule going by winning percentage.

Peacock exclusively getting an nfl wildcard playoff game saturday night 1/13/24.

Ill pay the $4.99 ill make more than that betting it.

So now they have another game to go along with their 12/23 BUF/LAC game.

The NFL sacrificing a playoff game to line the pockets of the streamers. I hope they take a beating on it and no one watches.
