I want a hit of whatever you are smoking. Barry Sanders is one of the best running backs of all time, no questions asked. He did so much with so little while in Detroit.

Doesn't matter, he is still overated, Walter Payton and Adrian Peterson is better than Barry but if you want me to make you happy, I will say that Barry is better than Emmitt Smith who is the most overated player in football

Adrian Peterson has more fumbles in 4 years than Barry Sanders had in his entire career and, other than that, their numbers are comparable, especially considering Barry Sanders played on one of the worst teams in the NFL and Adrian Peterson one of the best.

Emmitt Smith was a Super Bowl MVP.

What exactly do you base your "who's good, who's bad" on? Foot size?

Barry Sanders had more negative yards than Adrian Peterson had in his entire career so far so that is why he is overated, I do not care if Emmitt was a Super Bowl MVP, if it was not for his offensive line, he would be a 3rd stringer or out of the NFL, he is not that good

I based on watching them on TV

Oh don't worry, AP will eclipse him on that stat. In 2010 nearly 24% of his carries were for no gain or negative yards. You heard that right -- 1/4 of his carries.

*Shrugs* I am biased though as I am a Sooners fan and Vikings fan, we just have different opinions and yeah, all people think I am nuts thinking Barry is overated but it is just my opinion, at least Adrian improved on his fumbles last year so if he kept improving, he will not eclipse Barry on that stat

I am not a fan of Barry and all over his nutsack like most but to say he and Emmitt overrated is ridiculous. You don't accomplish what those two accomplished and just throw out some blanket 'they are overrated' nonsense. I can't stand when people like you just shoot off at the mouth with any facts. Just stop because you don't know what you are talking about as usual.

Oh boy. You are special. Very special.

I always love the offensive line argument. Let me know when any of those on that line will be in Canton. The only one that will is Larry Allen and his 1st year, Emmitt had already won 3 rushing titles. People don't ever stop to think that MAYBE, Emmitt had a little bit to do with that offensive line being successfully and gaining notoriety. No one on that oline was making Pro Bowls before Emmitt was drafted by the Cowboys. You also have to remember that the few times Emmitt didn't play, like the year he held out or the games he missed due to injury his backups didn't put up the same numbers that Emmitt did. People just refuse to give Emmitt credit and it is a shame that there are people like you with no basis to just throw crap out there and hope it sticks. As a longtime Cowboy fan, I watched every game the man played and he knew where to run, what holes to hit, how not to go down on the first initial hit behind the line of scrimmage, block on passing downs, great vision. You don't rush for 18,000 by being lucky and overrated. Same thing with Barry. Barry and Emmitt had some different qualities obviously but both were smart, great player and great men that represented the game the right way. To me there are only two running backs that are better than these two or arguably better and that is Walter Payton and Jim Brown. That's it.

What you mean I do not know what I am talking about? Look up the stats of Barry's negative yards, he is overated because of it and as for Emmitt, if it was not for his offensive line, he would be a 3rd stringer or out of the NFL, he is so overated, it is not even funny

So Barry Sanders is your 3rd best running back when some people think he is #1, so you call him overrated? Too soon on Peterson if you ask me. Lets not forget about people saying LaDainian Tomlinson was gonna break all the records 5 years ago. We all know that's not gonna happen now. I don't believe Peterson's body holds up considering the way he hits people. Part of being the best player at a position is longevity and career stats. That's why Emmitt holds all the records and is considered one of the best all-time.

If you're only argument against Emmitt is his good offensive line, then why not give Barry a break for having a bad one? You're also ignoring the fact that Peterson has had a good offensive line himself. Hutchinson and McKinnie? also Birk for 2 seasons.

So the 35 more games Payton played that only netted him 11 more touchdowns makes him better Or how about the extra 776 career rush attempts he got over Barry that only got him an extra 1457 yards... Lmao talk about a 3rd string back you might not even be on a team if it took you 776 attempts to get 1457 (thats 1.87 yards per carry by the way ).

As for post season yeah Barry bombed, but as do most people who have to shoulder a whole team during the playoffs. Why do you think the Colts failed for so long? It wasn't until the TEAM produced that Peyton got over the hump.

Barrys playoff numbers 1 touchdown for 112 touches, Walter 2 touchdowns in 190 touches both failed in that respect.

Barry should catch a break, because he set the standard for how an elite player can produce with 80+% scrubs around him in a team based game.

At the same time Emmitt shouldn't be bowed down too (or punished that much) for having the great luck of contributing to some of the greatest ( ) teams in NFL history.

Yeah I know since the offensive line was awful and was not creating holes for Adrian to run though, I hope the offensive line will improve this year but I am not holding my breath

The experts thinks that July 15th is the "deadline" date to get a deal reached, anybody else agrees?

[Facepalm]

Wait... Adrian Peterson better than Barry? Emmitt over rated? So, seriously, how much pleasure do you get out of trolling and making statements like that? Nobody can seriously believe that. Secondly - Peterson fumbles the ball more in 1 game then Barry did in his entire Career.

But you just argued Emmitt Smith was over rated because his offensive line and Peterson was better than him, now you're saying Peterson needs his offensive line.

I've heard they're close, but still have a while to go on the money issues. If it's July 15th, we have ourselves an 8 game year
