Any team going from a 15+ year pro QB to a perennial backup (Tarvaris Jackson) to a rookie will fall hard. They used to have their defense to fall back on but it has been getting beat a lot with the same guys on the field year after year. Getting older sucks.

It's basically the same thing that would happen to the Patriots. Going from Brady to Mallet (not sure if he's second or 3rd string) would cost them A LOT of games. Brady wins games. I hate to say it but he does. He's elite, and that keeps them in the playoffs every year. they, like the Vikings, have neglected their defense for far too long trying to get offensive playmakers.

Joe Flacco isn't that good either, your team wins on the backs of their aging defense and Ray Rice. Patriots have not had a great defense I think since 2004, so much for Belicheat being a defensive guru, eh?

Tyler Palko has been demoted to third string by the Chiefs. The new depth chart has Kyle Orton as the #1 QB and rookie Ricky Stanzi at #2. If Orton is unable to play with his injured finger then Stanzi will start.

Well there's a winner's group of NFL QBs if I ever saw one!

The NFL has extended their broadcast deals with NBC, CBS, and Fox for another 9 years through the 2022 season. The league had already extended their deal with ESPN through 2021. Each of the broadcast network deals are worth about $1 billion per year, and the ESPN deal is worth about $2 billion per year. Starting next season NBC will televise a Thursday night game on Thanksgiving night instead of the NFL Network.

Brady only has a losing record vs one team, he is 1-6 against the Denver Broncos

does he stand a chance against the Tebows?

It's likely the NFL Network will start airing more Thursday night games starting next season. In the press release announcing the new TV deal is the statement “The agreements also enable the NFL to expand its Thursday night package of games on NFL Network beginning next year.”

For those without NFL Network here is some welcome news on the TV Deals, it appears Fox, CBS, and NBC all have 1 Thanksgiving day game now, with NBC getting the 8pm game

Quote:
Plenty of details regarding the new TV packages will emerge in the coming hours. Here’s one of my favorites.

According to the NFL, the Thanksgiving night game will shift from NFL Network to NBC in 2012.

This year, the 49ers-Ravens game generated the biggest audience in the history of the league-owned channel. But the fact that the game wasn’t available on a nationwide basis triggered plenty of criticism.

Moving forward, all three Thanksgiving games will be televised on major networks. And that’s something we don’t have to wait until next November for which to be thankful.

Well perennial underachiever Plummer was 2-0 against Brady as a Bronco. However, Brady has kicked it up several notches since those days. Tebow gets a 20% chance from me because of the crazy luck he gets every weekend keeps him in position to win. Blown tackles, Barbarians forgetting how to play etc.

Obviously they are putting more games on NFLN to get the time-warners & cablevisions of the world to sign on but NFLN is going to have to up the ante on the level of games to get that done....having more titans or cards games isnt going to do it.

I know they got spooked ever since that pats/giants fiasco 4 years ago but i think they have to risk it.

as for that team, wow... that 07 patriots team outscored the opponent by 315 points
315 freaking points, that's a whole season for some teams

they averaged 36.8125 point a game on offense and defense gave up 17.125

we've come a long way since then

Flacco is consistent. He doesn't need to be elite, we've never had elite on the Ravens. As long as he doesn't melt down like Romo we'll keep him. He's only supposed to throw enough to keep the defense from stacking up against Ray Rice.

NFL Network's Jason La Canfora reports that Jim Caldwell will be fired as Colts head coach if the team finishes 0-16.
Citing several sources close to the situation, La Canfora reports that Caldwell will "unequivocally" be fired if Colts don't win one of their final three games. "If they don't win a football game," La Canfora said Wednesday, "they will be firing the head coach." Indianapolis' last three games are against the Titans (7-6), Texans (10-3), and Jaguars (4-9). Many of the Colts' veterans seemed to pack it in months ago, so the smart money is on Indianapolis finishing winless.

Caldwell would appear to be their Barry Switzer, except he didn't last long enough to get them a ring like Barry did. Sounds like the Packers expect Jermichael Finely and Randall Cobb to get more looks with Jennings out, we'll see how that goes.

What the hell is this "if" he goes 0-16? He should be fired now.

I'm sure there are a lot of good coaches out there who'd want to coach Peyton and/or Luck.
Jeff Fisher please.

I agree, I don't think Caldwell had any kind of control.

If the Cowboys miss the playoffs it wouldn't shock me if Garrett is fired and the team goes after Fisher. He might have gone after Fisher last year but the Titans didn't fire him until the end of January and the Cowboys had already promoted Garrett by then.
