Really unsure what to make of Trevor Lawrence. After the expected trash rookie year, the guy looked incredible in year 2. Then year 3... he regressed big time. Really hope he returns to form next season, but I'm seriously doubting he'll ever live up to the promise.

so far no surprises on Black Monday - Rivera and Smith fired as expected. WAS going to get former Warriors and Vikings GM assistance on hiring their next HC. New owners said to want a big name.

Not a lot on the Belichick front other than he said he is under contract and is open to ceding some say on the personnel front in order to help the team in whatever ways possible. Some are saying that both sides may agree that this is a good time to part ways. It may also be a couple weeks to see what the landscape is as far as any playoff teams deciding to move on from their coaches.

Lions were still potentially in the hunt for the 2nd seed, though.

Obvs don’t play them the whole game. Give them limited snaps like in preseason if you already have the one seed locked up and have nothing to play for. Sure, theoretically, they could still get hurt, but then you risk rusty play (drops and receivers not getting open) by not playing them for two weeks straight. A small risk of injury vs. a good/decent chance of rust and wasting HFA, you take a chance either way. A 1 week bye is hard enough on some teams as it is during the reg season.

The Niners ironically did have most of their starters in against the Rams, but IDK if they played the whole game since I didn’t watch. I do know they were listed in the box score/stat sheet for that game yesterday, though. Since they had few tackles/targets compared to their backups, I’ll just assume they played in limited action yesterday. And they had Darnold in over Purdy and CMC was out.

But for 2 seed they needed Dal who was 13 point fav to lose + eagles to lose + lions win so the odds of all 3 happening were very slim....so was it worth the risk.

the only notable starters that played on the offensive side were Aiyuk and Deebo, they only played two series and it was backups the rest of the way.
Defensively, everyone who was healthy played most of the first half and then it was backups the rest of the way.

I get the point you are making about the Dolphins but Chiefs aren't scaring anyone right now. An upset wouldn't surprise me at all.

Chiefs had their run....If they find a way to beat the Dolphins they will be eliminated shortly thereafter.

I don't think the Chiefs run as a competing team year in and year out is over, Mahomes will always have them in the mix but this years team doesn't resemble the KC teams from the last four seasons.
Kelce is not dependable like he used to be and seems to have aged 5 NFL years in half a season. If they had a reliable WR that would be a huge boost. This isn't to say I think MIA is a threat, when they're hot they're hot but when the offense is struggling anyone can beat them.
