Brian Billick intrigued by Miami Dolphins position

Quote:
Billick is on the Dolphins’ radar, according to several sources. But Billick said he has not yet been contacted.

Meanwhile, the Dolphins’ initial calls in their search to replace Tony Sparano were expected to be made to representatives for former Steelers coach Bill Cowher and former Titans coach Jeff Fisher, according to a person briefed on the situation.

Davone Bess is underrated, he reminds of Wes Welker. I think with a better QB, Bess could put up much better numbers.

Good receivers put up good numbers regardless of their QBs really, look at your own Brandon Marshall and at Minnesota's Percy Harvin as examples off the top of my head.

Marshall is a beast, he could put up good numbers no matter who is the QB. Welker couldn't do shit in Miami, and look what he's become with Brady.

It wasn’t enough to win, but the Cowboys’ wide receiving corps provided a glimpse of how potent it can be against the Giants.

With Miles Austin back in the mix, the Cowboys’ wide receivers accounted for 250 yards and three touchdowns, with Austin, Laurent Robinson and Dez Bryant each scoring once.

Austin is a two-time Pro Bowler with a $54 million contract, but he’s been the Cowboys’ third most productive wide receiver this season, in large part because he’s missed six games due to hamstring injuries. Robinson and Bryant both have chances to finish with 1,000-yard, 10-touchdown seasons.

“I feel like without a doubt that we are the best receiving corps in the league,” Bryant said.

That’s debatable. There are other receiving corps that can make the same claim, including the one that won Sunday night at Cowboys Stadium. But the Cowboys’ trio is at least in the conversation if Austin can stay healthy.

Here’s how the Cowboys’ wideouts compare to the other elite receiving corps in the league:

COWBOYS
Laurent Robinson – 46 catches, 763 yards, 8 TD
Dez Bryant – 47 catches, 756 yards, 8 TD
Miles Austin – 32 catches, 466 yards, 5 TD

GIANTS
Victor Cruz – 68 catches, 1,150 yards, 7 TD
Hakeem Nicks – 65 catches, 1,023 yards, 6 TD
Mario Manningham -- 36 catches, 466 yards, 4 TD

STEELERS
Mike Wallace – 62 catches, 1,034 yards, 8 TD
Antonio Brown – 55 catches, 925 yards, 2 TD
Hines Ward – 37 catches, 325 yards, 2 TD

PACKERS
Jordy Nelson – 51 catches, 957 yards, 10 TD
Greg Jennings – 67 catches, 949 yards, 9 TD
James Jones – 26 catches, 479 yards, 5 TD

Donald Driver – 31 catches, 357 yards, 4 TD

Patriots

Gronk 1088 yards, 15 TD's
Slot Machine 1339 yards, 9 TD's
Hernandez 607 yards, 5 TD's
Branch 665, 4 TD's

The offense is a deep threat aka Randy Moss away from the Super Bowl

But the defense is garbage. If they even had a middle of the road defense, they would be the undoubted top AFC team.

Packers D plays like garbage too. Patriots could just as easily be undefeated right now if the offense or defense played just a little bit better. They lost by a combined 15 points in their 3 losses.

I feel bad for Brady, he should have more rings than he does. Unfortunately for him he hasn't had much defensive help in several years, just imagine how many rings he might have if they still had a good defense.

I'd feel bad for him if he weren't a jerk, as it is I'm kinda glad when someone like Aaron Rodgers wins a ring.

9 of the last 10 AFC reps in the Super Bowl have been either the Patriots , Colts , or Steelers

I think this year will be no different

Ben Roethlisberger (ankle) returned to a "limited" practice Friday, giving him a better shot to start Monday night's game.
His fast-healing powers are in overdrive. Roethlisberger's official status may still come down to a game-time decision Monday night, but his chances are increasing. We'll have more updates on Saturday. If Big Ben does play against the 49ers -- and we have a sneaking suspicion that he will -- the fantasy outlooks of Antonio Brown and Mike Wallace would improve considerably.

It's too bad Houston has so many major injuries. This really should have been their year. I know they're 10-3, but unless T.J. Yates turns out to be some undiscovered gem like Brady or Kurt Warner I don't see them getting far in the playoffs. I think it'll be the Pats, Steelers or Ravens who gets the honor of losing the Super Bowl to Green Bay.

Ravens have a bus driver for a QB, Patriots have an inconsistent rushing attack and a poor defense, Steelers still have the best shot in the AFC of getting to the big game but don't think any of them can beat the Saints or the Packers.

The Ravens won a Super Bowl with Trent Dilfer. Their defense isn't as good as it was in 2000, but it's still one of the best. Flacco isn't THAT bad of a QB, and for the Ravens that's all they really need.

A playoff game between New Orleans and Green Bay is the de-facto Super Bowl IMO. I just cannot see the Saints going into Green Bay and winning a big playoff game though.

They had a similar team that year but let's be honest, they also had fantastic special teams and that defense was much better that year. Oh and the Packers and Saints are also much better than the 2000 Giants that rolled over and died for the Ravens 34-7 in that Super Bowl.

That Ravens team still had to beat the #1, 2 and 5 seeds in the AFC just to make it to the Super bowl. And the Giants were the top seed in the NFC that season. Every playoff game they won in a blowout. Their defense gave up an average of just 6 points per game i their 4 playoff wins. That team more or less won their games by literally giving up no points, forcing turnovers and playing it safe on offense and not turning the ball over.

Beat #5 Denver home 21-3
Beat #1 Tennessee on the road 24-10
Beat #2 Oakland on the road 16-3
Beat #1 NY Giants 34-7
