I also wouldnt even begin comparing mahomes to brady in the playoffs yet. Mahomes couldn't even beat a non prime brady in the playoffs or in the superbowl

Also consider when brady not in his prime played mahomes in the superbowl, brady blew mahomes out 31-9

How did Kelce not get benched for his behavior on the sideline, btw? He almost knocked his coach down for Pete sake.

It was pretty wild to see that. Did you catch his speech during the trophy ceremony? The dude started singing Elvis & Beastie Boys lol. I can only imagine Kelce when he’s had a few drinks in him. We all know how his brother acts.

Congrats to the Chiefs. It was a very good game.

The Chiefs had Brady beat in the AFC championship game in 2018. Dee Ford lined up inches off side (had no bearing on the play). The flag negated an interception, which would have ended the game. That proved Mahomes could have beaten Brady in the playoffs

I agree with you overall point that it’s too early to crown Mahomes

That was one of the best Super Bowl games I have ever seen. It sucked for the 49ers, but what can you do when you miss a crucial extra point?

Being a fan in the UK sucks. The game didn't start until 11:30 pm UK time. I stayed up to watch the whole thing live (minus the trophy presentation and all post-game stuff) until I went to bed at 4 am! The wife couldn't stay up and hadn't watched any of it, but she already knew who won... for that reason, she is strongly suggesting we stop subscribing to the NFL package going forward. She got a point though. Money aside, since nearly ALL playoffs games start LATE in the UK, and we almost always have to refrain from using our phones for almost the entire next day, if we don't want any spoilers before we watch the replay. What do you guys think?

And yeah, coaches matter too. Why would anyone trust Kyle Shanahan in a big game?
Because they go by power ratings and sf was obv higher power rated over kc all season the playoffs close the gap but there still wasn't enough money on kc to tilt for them to be the fav.

2 of KC best offensive line were out + mahomes played on a toe so bad he had to get operated on that Tuesday.

We now get Taylor at the opening kickoff game !!!!!

Congrats Ron and other Chiefs fan's, I had no doubt that Mahomes would keep his team in a spot to win the game. The team is as close to the Patriots teams as I have ever seen, well coached and full of talent that gets elevated because of the best Quarterback in the league.

Obviously not for their careers. There's a huge difference between 3 and 7 rings. That being said, comparatively by age 28, Mahomes has 3 rings to Brady's 2 and Brady didn't win his 3rd until age 37.

As far as the Bucs-Chiefs Super Bowl went, that was clearly an off day for Mahomes, but the blowout had a lot more to do with the Bucs smothering defense and the Chiefs poor O-line than Brady. Mahomes couldn't breathe, let alone get off a pass that game.

At this point it's Brady and Mahomes and then everyone else. However, even Brady and Mahomes on their best day still need the rest of the team to show up to win championships. Perfect example was that 18-1 Patriots team that couldn't score in the Super Bowl against the rush 4 and drop 7 scheme.

I enjoyed the game and while I didn't have a problem with the Niners getting the ball to start OT and think that whole conversation is overblown, they definitely should have gone for it on 4th down. You just knew that when they settled for three that Mahomes wasn't gonna go for the tie. And I'll never understand teams playing not to lose and letting opponents, primarily KC & Mahomes, just chip away at yardage late in games. What's wild is San Fran had that winning mindset when they went for it earlier on 4th down and converted, and then just abandoned the philosophy. Gotta stick with it to win at the highest level.

well... that sucked. out of all the recent SB and NFCC losses the past 12 years, this one probably stung the most.
So many self-inflicted wounds - CMC fumble, offensive penalties in the 1Q, including back-to-back calls on Trent, not capitalizing on two KC turnovers, the blocked XP, muffed punt (which actually smart on the part of Ray-Ray to try and recover after recognizing it bounced off his teammates ankle) certainly stand out but the one that stood out to me the most was on the game ending drive in OT. I believe it was 3 and 6. Wilks initially had 5 safety cover zone, Kyle didn't like it so called timeout. When they came out of the timeout, they lined up showing a 0-cover blitz, Romo said it was likely just a show but nope - it was in fact a 0-cover blitz - which made no sense, Niners aren't a blitzing team, Armstead, Hargrave, Bosa and Young had been getting pressure early in the game but really hadn't in the second half, OT. But of course, KC converted, and it was then I knew it was all than likely over.
Honestly, I was never confident they'd pull it off, something in the back of my head just figured Mahomes and Reid would find a way. Props to the Chiefs - they're not a team I dislike just because they beat mine though I will say I am glad we can be done with Travis and Taylor until at least September.
Offensively, not enough Deebo, Aiyuk and Kittle, though its always great to see Jennings step up, Juice too, Conley was great in key moments these last two games.
Not gonna blame Kyle for abandoning the run like in years past, maybe not enough of it in 3rd and 4th quarters but that was more about the flow of the game and he did go back to it in OT, just needed a TD instead of a FG there.
I'm not even in "we'll get 'em next year" mood right now. The team is still loaded in talent but I feel the window may be closing, other NFC teams will be reloading this offseason.
But gotta acknowledge Brock - he was poised throughout, didn't turn it over, only took one sack. He is the guy for this team. Only thing I would have liked to have seen is maybe a designed run play or two in key moments in the second half but that falls on Kyle.

Yeah I was surprised by that as well. Only 4 yards to go and the ball on on 8 yard line. If they don't convert KC gets the ball deep in their own territory instead of the 25 yard line after the made FG. KC was moving the ball well too so it was a curious call. I wonder what the analytics said.
