my team had the season from hell and have been out of the mix for weeks now but I am hoping they can end the season on a positive note, a win or two would be nice BUT beyond all of that, some exciting matchups next weekend and the playoffs should be fun

Edit - who is our Jets fan in the thread? would like to get their take on the Jets reportedly interviewing Rex Ryan and Ron Rivera for the HC position. lol

welp the only thing that was unexpected for me was that the Niners were in it as long as they were. good to see Ricky get some reps. picks were inexcusable. looks like we will be searching for a new kicker in the offseason. onto ARI and man, the offseason can't come quick enough.

I hope they don’t go overboard with Brock’s extension, somewhere in the 30-35 mil range would be ideal. He would get his big jump in pay and also be eligible for another huge extension in the future (obviously depending on his performance). Plus, it wouldn’t handicap the team…..win, win situation.

yeah there are lot of ways they can handle this - short term for the sake of being team friendly, frontload with signing bonus, backload giving him opportunity to sign bigger extension in the future, keeping the team competitive now.
I don't care about the details I just want it to get done and done quickly. I want an offseason of peace. I have seen a lot of fans online be down on Brock and I am sooooo far away from that mindset, he is our guy. so many forget how bad things were after Young retired. Garcia was decent but so turnover prone, benefitted from TO as a weapon. I loved Alex but injuries, constant change of coaches and coordinators never gave him continuity. Harbaugh then stuck with the hot hand in Kaep but teams figured him out quick. Jimmy proved to be a system QB but I always had the same pit of my stomach feeling with him like I did Garcia, always afraid he was going to turn the ball over at anytime. I haven't had that feeling with Brock. I think it was just a down year, Madden curse hit the whole team.
On the other side of the ball, defense was not dominant this year, an edge rusher to compliment Bosa would be ideal. Dre should be back full time with Fred next year and the secondary is already pretty good.
Priority should be the o-line especially with Trent getting closer and closer to retirement. But apparently, we need to be looking for a kicker in the offseason now.

Stefanski is a good coach but I don't think anyone is going to succeed in CLE as long as they are tied to that Watson contract.
Not sure where Vrabel could land. Jets could be attractive just depends on the QB situation next season.

god those years were the worst here, glad York finally got his head out of his ass.
within the last couple days York was asked if Lynch and Shanny were coming back and he said of course they are. Some in our fanbase are calling for change, which is just asinine.

It is being reported that John Gruden is being considered for several Head Coaching gigs with multiple franchises.

According to the NFL Network, teams are reportedly keeping an eye on Jon Gruden.

However, it isn't as easy as interviewing a football coach — apparently, those teams are doing "extensive homework" on Gruden "as a coach" and "as a person" considering the controversy that hit him a couple of years ago.

Gruden is suing the NFL, claiming it leaked the emails to remove him from his job — it was reported he made racist, misogynistic and homophobic emails directed at Commissioner Roger Goodell and NFL Players Association Executive Director DeMaurice Smith, among others in emails.
