I mean, I remember some people who still said 'WWF' back in 2002 when WWE changed their initials, but I don't think anyone today still says it without adding something like "As it was known at the time" or simply quoting a wrestler from the prior years.

WWF was sued it sucks that even in old footage they cant put the old logo in.

With the Redskin and Cleveland Indians the names were changed during the whole Cancel me Me To Era.

They did a full on research of the name. The researchers found that 49% of self-identified Native Americans found the Washington Redskins name offensive or very offensive, 38% found it not offensive, and 13% were indifferent.

The logo was based off a real chief Blackfeet Chief Two Guns White Calf. The logo was designed by Blackfeet Tribal Chairman Walter "Blackie" Wetzel in 1971.

The name Redskin I get why it offends. Yes it is derogatory. But it did not become that way until the late 19th into 20th century and it became especially bad when the owner of a newspaper in Washington (same Owner of the team at the time ) in the 70's began printing things in his paper that were not of appropriate for the term.

"Way too easy" seems like you haven't put much thought into you comment. The teams that make the divisional round are the best 8 teams (and sometimes the hottest) in the NFL. ....Just ask the Lions.

I certainly never considered it "Way too easy" for the 1 seed (or 2 Seed in pre-2020 years) considering the caliber of competition at that stage.

That said: I do think the 1 seed should be rewarded, but I think current system rewards it too much with having the only first round bye. Pre-2020 there was still good reason for a team to try to improve their late-season standing from 2 to 1 since home field was an additional perk

When it comes to how important late season games are, the expansion is a double-edged sword. Sure, games affecting the #1 seed are more important, but games where a team has a chance to jump from 3 to 2 or defend its 2 spot become less meaningful (like with the Bill's final game this season). Similarly at the bottom of the playoff picture, finishing 7th is now more meaningful, but as a tradeoff, the team that's clinched 7th place but has a shot at 6th has less reason to fight for it.

I think Philly more likely that not wins, but the Commanders have looked really good over the past month and a half. Wouldn't exactly be a huge shock if Washington wins.

I'd love to see that matchup. Unfortunately, my gut tells me this is all setting up another KC-Philly (or KC-Washington) Super Bowl matchup. I'll believe in Lamar Jackson or Josh Allen when either actually shows me something and beats a Mahomes led team. Until that time, my default setting is to believe that some how, some way, Mahomes and the Chiefs will always find a way to triumph, similar to those Brady-led Pats teams.

I'm native american myself. This name was not so offensive to me when I knew nothing about the history behind it. Now, after learning about its origins, I understand why it was such a big deal. Especially with it representing the nations capital. Looks bad.
